XCOM: Apocalypse (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OdSyF06Z4U&feature=related)

The last of the first trilogy, but by far the best. I don't think the amount of detail has ever been bettered in any game EVER. That's right - it was full of so many moral dilemmas. Go and clear an armoury warehouse of alien scum, accidentally blow up the entire building with a careless grenade, and piss off the weapons manufacturer in the process and... Whoops! No more guns for you! What are you going to do now - hit the aliens with sticks? Sucks to be you.

I used to stay up all night and get shit scared by the music just to advance 3 more days in-game and develop a slightly more powerful gun for my hovercar that would be destroyed in 0.76 seconds by the weakest alien ships anyway. I don't think I ever got beyond about week 6 of the game. I wasted my childhood :(

Probably the funniest game ever made. I never even beat the game because one of the 780 floppy disks that came in the box was corrupted so one of the items I needed never appeared in the game. I recently got a download through TAL and completed it in one sitting it was that addictive. I never thought that turning a cat inside out could be so much fun!
