Pretty freaking stupid of me. We are both alright apart from the guys neck started hurting later in the dealings.

He didn't speak good english and he drove a taxi, I have a feeling its gonna get complicated even though my car is worse. I'm glad I fully cover myself on Insurance though - all these years fully comp and protected no claims never put to use. At least now there was a reason I paid a premium.

I'm so mad at myself though, I can't even explain how it came about in fairly slow moving traffic - about 20mph. Obviously just lost concentration. Grrrr, stupid Adam

Isn't that the worst? I've been in a slow speed accident before too. I clearly saw the guy yet I thought I could make the turn in front of him at 5 mph. Right into his $1200 bumper.

I wasn't high, haven't been for a long time now (y) I was pretty hungry though.

I won't be getting sued, it ain't america ;)

It was just stupidity on my behalf. The guy seemed alright, his neck might of been hurting but he was bending down and looking under his car stuff. I dunno, I'm not judging - I'm admitting fault (I think). I use my car so little these days part of me thinks its hardly worth having one, maybe this is a sign. Eh, I dunno, whatever happens happens, I can't control it and I'm not gonna fight it.

I've had some food now to (y)

you didnt say it was your fault there did you, shouldnt ever do that just in case even if it was.

No,I didn't take the blame at the scene. Kinda obvious it is (looking at current evidence).

Oh, I did tweet it was my fault though but I ran out of characters to adds "looks like". Hmmms, do you think Twitter and BBMB will be used as evidence to add more blame? Even though I will probably be taking responsibility for it anyway?

My first accident in 13 years of driving. I'm still mad at me but can you imagine if the taxi had passengers in it? Man, that'd be a headache and half to deal with. Wish I knew how it happened though, how did I not see it?

"not good english" + "taxi driver" = Me telling the stupid cunt the directions of where I want to go to with my hands pointing left or right or straight ahead.

I talked to the dude on the phone as I had to pass on some more details that I didn't have at the time. He wished me a merry christmas (I think) and saying he is going to the GP collaborative - which you get sent to after the walk-in centre when they want you to see a doctor but its not all that serious. Maybe he'll get some pain killers.

So maybe he'll be pretty cool about it all. I checked my insurance to and its only £150 excess (if I've read it right) so no massive payout really. And my no claims are protected so the increase in premiums next year won't be too harsh or if they are I think I will sell the car.

I'm better though now - kinda shook up before, shit happens - happy no1 was seriously hurt and if I can do one thing, its learn from my experience (lb)

They may be an argument to say that cus they are in the driving business, their colleagues have a lot of experience in these matters.

You see, part of me thinks if you ever watch a taxi driver they are always fiddling with some gadget and I could of sworn the lights were at green at time of impact, why would he of stopped at a green light. I know I should of seen him but I'm making sure it all goes through the insurance as quick as possible because I just think the more advice he may collect, the more he may drag this out.

Oh, that kinda sucks. I have contacts at the Home Office still so maybe if mine goes that long a fine tooth comb may have to go through his immigration status.

hehe.

if its getting really shitty and you feel like being a twat you could say you thought you smelled alcohol on him but that could open a massive can of worms.

not really worth it for £150 i suppose

Sorry to hear about your accident Adam. At least you and the other driver are OK and it wasn't serious. Merry fucking Christmas though. :(

TLDR

I'm not sure where you are but hope this helps. I ran over a "working girl" 2 years ago in Phuket and kept driving. A motorcycle driver followed us so the jig was up. I gave Mint all was holding but $500USD and we drove back to where that awful rendition occurred. They asked if I had money and I said that I was just a tourist and only had the $ I came with and that was to last us the week. I called my best friend and he said pay and pay fast. So I gave her $200US and she went from hurt to doing cartwheels.

Moral of the story: Settle before the police come and want a cut of the loot. Get rid of all the excess loot on your person. If shit gets deep then you can surely find it. But why give up more than you have to

You're welcome and hope this doesn't spoil your vacation
Don't get the Car fixxed at a dealership...Get it fixxed where you rented it. You'll save 80%

I realised a little after a couple of the posts that it could read as if I hit a pedestrian. I didn't, I hit a car but you can't change the title. But I think everyone got the gist of it by reading the thread. Grammar and double checking have never been my strong point. You can add driving to that to now
