so I'm thinking I might pick up a copy today. Some of my coworkers play it and love it. Also our head of security from Germany plays it as well and you wouldn't even imagine this guy playing any kind of video game because he's very high brow. He wasn't the guy chiefing up in the bathroom though.
I hear there's events such as fishing, trading, and everything else. I also hear it's a stupid game and whatnot.
Input?

my girlfriend's brother plays it and apparently he loves it
he is almost 30, has never moved out from his parents house, is a career part-time worker, never dated, and is still a virgin.
so it must be a great game.....it's keeping him numb (y)
kaiser said it.
I became addicted to WoW but I've been off it for about 18 months now.
Having said that; it got me through a lot. When you've got problems the escapism it provides is a good medicine but you can easily get addicted.
Crack might be a better option.

just play "magic: the gathering" or D&D instead. it's cheaper and socially produces the exact same results as WoW.
On a serious note; its an excellent game. It wouldn't have 10+ million subscribers paying around £10 a month each for it. If you do the maths you'll understand how much Blizzard are making from it.
I would play again but I would avoid becoming a guilder leader or officer again. Join a guild, take part, keep happy - if you start to get frustrated turn it off. If people start to get frustrated with you then tell them to walk away from you or ignore them. /ignore is a great command - actually I got to a stage of the game saying you can't ignore any more players

That's like saying heroin is an excellent drug.

Well it is, really...
Its the side effects that are the problem and its how you deal with them that effects your own life and those around you. Generally its for the worse but I am sure there are some heroin users who get by just fine, always have and always will

I've done the maths... they're making about £100,000 a year!!

I might not get it. Maybe after a few months I will. I just got a 360 not too long ago and Fallout 3 has me pretty occupied ATM.

This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW_Lv0r-l4c) old interview with Corpsegrinder is enough to keep me away from it for a while.

Another good point - WoW stopped me playing every other game that came out for about 3 years. Cus there is no other game!
