Seriously. This is addressed to Adam, Mike, and Adam. Or rather, Mr. Horovitz, Mr. Diamond, and Mr. Yauch
I'm a HUGE fan, will be unemployed as of end of Jan 2010. I live in Vancouver, BC, and I hear there's going to be one hell of a party going on up in here February, (the Winter Olympics.) If you're planning on being 'round the 'Couv, hows about we have a sit down?
I'd love to meet 3 (4 if you include MMM,) of the most influential, inspirational people in my life and just for lack of a better term, shoot the shizz. I'm 29, and at a bit of a loss as to what direction I want to take in life now. I love being creative, but I know artists tend to scrape by. I have mad wicked creative ideas - from writing, to drawing, to even advertising, but usually one has to drop a fortune to go to schools without any guarantee of any substanial employment after all is said and done.
I also love helping people. Actually making another person's day or life better through my actions.
At this point, I'd love to just shadow, (completely different to stalk, or other weird creepy things,) around with you guys. I'd gladly volunteer my time to be 'on the inside' and maybe getting some pointers from you about life.
Sounds crazy? Yeah, probably. Serious though? Like a heart attack.

That was funny. I typed in Beastie Boys for keywords and my zip code and found that there is a nearby position available at Pep Boys.

Monster KNOWS what you're qualified for, and I'd say Pep-Boys is just about right for you! You'd be the perfect person to push those tree shaped air fresheners...

I applied, but could not pass the psychological examination. Who knew that inventorying car parts demanded "an acceptable level of emotional stability"... those profiles are biased anyway.

With the Olympics in town, shouldn't there be a crap load of temp jobs available?
:confused:Are any of the Beastie Boys actually in the Olympics? I'm confussed why they would be going up there. Are they performing during the halfpipe?

If thats true, perhaps a sit down with the Beastie Boys would work out so that the original poster could maybe tune is bike or light the torch. I'm sure thats worth about 5 or 10 bucks.

Speaking of tree shaped air fresheners. I came across one labeled "blueberry" in the store the other day and dang it if the thing doesnt smell exactly like blueberry muffins.

A cry for help?

Yeah, I know reactions will be mixed - but whatever. I figured - what have I got to lose?
In these times, you never know unless you put yourself out there.
Yeah, SURE, I could go out looking for a normal job, and get back on the slave train, but I want to experience something different with this year of unemployment in front of me. I am eligible to collect EI (unemployment - not welfare,) and while re-assessing things, why not throw out a few fishing lines towards things that dreams are made of?
For instance - I wish, ohhh how I wish I could have been a part of I F#cking Shot That.
No word on the Boys coming up here for an Olympic adventure, though Mike D ripping down a hill carrying the torch would totally rock.
I dunno if I really consider this a cry for help, other than can you help me meet 3 MC's and one DJ - people whose music and creativity I consider above all else out there.
Funny how I joined this board back in Jul 2004 - but my 1st post ever was Jan 2010, eh?
And Cinnaberry trees pwn.

I wonder if I met Adam H. or Mike in a meeting someday or in Penn Station if I could say "oh hi! hey I posted funny bullshit about you for years on your message board. Fellas - how about giving me a job? listen! I am a pretty awesome designer and I think you could use a guy like me on your side!"
realistically, I think if I saw them I would chuckle and say "oh shit small world" and they would chuckle too and then we would eat some hot dogs on the Train and have some shitty beer.
