its so funny to see Obama still blame Bush for all his problems, yet big $$$ democrat donors get sweetheart contract deals even though Obama campaigned against such practices

Despite President Obama's long history of criticizing the Bush administration for "sweetheart deals" with favored contractors, the Obama administration this month awarded a $25 million federal contract for work in Afghanistan to a company owned by a Democratic campaign contributor without entertaining competitive bids, Fox News has learned.
------
As a candidate for president in 2008, then-Sen. Obama frequently derided the Bush administration for the awarding of federal contracts without competitive bidding.
"I will finally end the abuse of no-bid contracts once and for all," the senator told a Grand Rapids audience on Oct. 2. "The days of sweetheart deals for Halliburton will be over when I'm in the White House."
Those remarks echoed an earlier occasion, during a candidates' debate in Austin, Texas on Feb. 21, when Mr. Obama vowed to upgrade the government's online databases listing federal contracts.
"If (the American people) see a bridge to nowhere being built, they know where it's going and who sponsored it," he said to audience laughter, "and if they see a no-bid contract going to Halliburton, they can check that out too."
Less than two months after he was sworn into office, President Obama signed a memorandum that he claimed would "dramatically reform the way we do business on contracts across the entire government."

Technically he was correct: The days of HALLIBURTON getting no-bid contracts ARE over -- they didn't donate to his campaign.

too bad the same didn't happen with Haliburton, KBR, and Blackwater
Not even the soldiers deaths/civilian rapes/and deaths of innocent Iraqis would stop Bush and Cheney with their contracts
nice to see you had no concern about them....never saw you post once in my threads contesting these blood sucking entities
you are the hypocrite

ummmm, if obama was all about hope and change and openess and transparency then the obama administration would have never entered into this no bid contract with a big time dem donor in the first place.....only after that right wing tea party news outfit fox news busted them on it did they say "oops" and quietly cancel the contract...
bush never campaigned on hope and change, obama did....
yet obama seems to be as secretive as bush was....
seems to me obama is the bigger hypocrite...

Please do tell how hope and change have anything to do with no bid contracts and corporate political contributions?
I'm not defending Obama, I think this is utter bullshit as well. But no matter how someone campaigns it doesn't change the fact that they are all getting and giving kickbacks and it doesn't change the fact that you didn't care then, so why now?

So you are aghast at what Obama has done, but still defend the openess and change that he campaigned on, you bash Bush even though you admit Obama is pretty much doing things the same back room way that Bush did, yet its okay for Obama to do it yet not okay for Bush, .
It seems in a round about way, by defending Obama you are also defending Bush 2, or do you admit that Hope and Change was just pure BS. You cant have it both ways....

ya know, I don't think I've done much defending of Obama around here. Yes I was quite excited when he was elected - just to keep Palin out of office it was worth it. But since I've been having to do some soul searching and believe me, when I hear him speak I pray he's telling the truth, right now I believe he's sinking his chances at a second term.
So don't think I'm defending him, just pointing out how some of those against Obama basically continuing certain policies NEVER said much about the those policies in the past.

President Obama is a much better man then those who daily purport otherwise. I am so incredibly happy he won because reading the litany of whiny baby crying wimpy anti American crap that passes for politics here is heartwarming.
The right people are pissing and moaning and that warms my heart. That would be the losers.
We have an incredible President and a Beautiful land here. A lot of good is happening right here, right now. A lot more is going to happen soon.
