Are there any news sources that this group can agree on that is not liberal or conservative, fascist or anarchist, etc?
Any sites just give the straight news?
I think NPR gives the straight dope but then I'm called liberal
yes, definitely npr and the bbc. also pbs, specifically news hour with jim lehrer (http://www.pbs.org/newshour/), reuters (http://ca.reuters.com/) and the associated press (http://www.ap.org/).

I think NPR and the AP still lean a little left but I like Moyers and I trust their content. I like Rueters and BBC 'cause they don't play the American Media shenanigans and may even scrutinize US content a little more because of it. I also mix in some Fox and MSNBC just to watch the catfight but they do both cover stories the other doesn't so that helps even if the reporting is slanted. Opinion pieces aside I do find Fox to be more reliable with their content than MSNBC. Unfortunately I find it impossible to trust just one source for all of my news.
I also like;
Jalopnik- Automotive News
Sailing Anarchy- Sailing News
News&Observer- Our local paper, they're pretty on the ball for local news.
TradeOnlyToday and Boating Industry- my trade rags
News comes from all manner of sources, keep your eyes, ears and minds wide open!

Awesome. The sailing news! I would be suspect on them reporting the news to learn more towards the positive aspects and the promotion of sailing versus being biased.

I think my local radio station (http://www.komonews.com/) that has the traffic every ten minutes on the fours and the weather on the nines is perfectly pitched for republican or democrat.
Though it is light weight and bubbly it is a news station and all they do is report. On their website over 50% probably 75 % of what is posted here would be banned there for offensive.
I listen to them more than any other electronic media based medium such as TV, Radio or Online style shows.
Other than that I read the NYTimes daily which conservatives usually vomit over. I could care less, the NYTimes is much more in depth, especially on the business, books and cultural events.
Seattle has become a one newspaper town and literally sucks for any good journalism. It frightens me but that is the way it is for the 2 million folks who live in the immediate area.
Our choices are dwindling as far as newspapers. The internet has some nice sites but usually they lack balance or real sources.
It's tough to find a neutral news source and it just keeps getting tougher.

What printed newspaper isn't laying off staff valvano? Electronic media is crushing all of them. I don't think it necessarily means that the people of Wake County are sick of their gargbage. Besides, for most of their content it's all AP articles anyway except the local stuff of which I stand by my initial reaction...they do a pretty good job.
And yes Echewta Sailing Anarchy leans a little..... to leeward:D

Right at the end, moved here in 2000. Didn't read the N&O much as I didn't really care much about what was going on around me other than making $$ while the triangle tech boom was in full swing.
