That's so funny. I like the way Adrock's mates are cracking up when he's name-checking Cookie Puss. Did Bambaata not recognise Adrock?

The video reminds me of this sketch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR8qtxts1jY).

I might have my Beastie history wrong, but could it be from just before he joined the Beasties?

It's really funny either way

Adam "Adrock" Horovitz was already a member of the Beastie Boys when Cooky Puss was recorded and released. It was already a club hit in the greater New York area by February 1984. I am not sure when this clip was filmed, but it may have been pre-planned that Adrock would name drop the Beastie Boys' single during this TV segment. Jazzy Jay appears as though he does not recognize Adam Horovitz....but the Beastie Boys opened for T La Rock and Jazzy Jay at Danceteria on July 4th 1984. This performance was part of the record release party that Rick Rubin had for the release of the Def Jam's first single "It's Yours" - a song that features Adam Horovitz, Mike D, Adam Yauch, and Dave Swift as well as some other their other friends of saying "ho" and getting their claps on.
