Judge Vaughn Walker is apparently gay. Should it matter?

the case is allegedly about the sanctity of marriage; if the judge were married and straight would they have to recuse themselves too?

Thats a good point. Those who are against same sex marriage have argueed that the judge, who was randomly selected, would be bias. Of course, nobody says that african american judges can't rule on a racist case or a woman judge for a rape case, etc.
