Ohhh so complicated! We've basically had no relationship other than mutual parents for years, for reasons that i'm just not getting into. And when he asked me do i want to break up, i said yes as i was no longer in love and there was barely a friendship anymore anyway. Bloody hard thing to tell someone actually. But because of the reasons i'm not discussing, he's in no position to be able to sort out moving out or keeping this house going if i go, so for now he wants to keep the fact we're no longer together from family and the kids. But it's hideous, i just want an end to it, but am also terrified how the boys will be...even though he's been a crap dad really, i do everything with and for them.

So, for now, we aren't moving on....i would like to stay in the house if i can but if we have to sell, so be it. We are pleasant to each other but i'm constantly fairly pissed off. It's a mess

it's always been a silly. In the past I've done nothing for it and vice versa.

But I can't lie, I do enjoy that my current boyfriend wants to take me out to dinner for it. Nothing super fancy, we tend to go out for dinner every few weeks anyhow. But he likes that it's an extra excuse to do so.

It's cute and it makes me blush a little. :o

That's probably the reason for my hatred.

Although, I think I'd appreciate it more if someone got me an unexpected card or gift on any other day of the year. That, to me, would show that someone has really thought of me and wasn't just sending it because he is reminded of it literally everywhere.

But huzzah for all the people who do get the chance to be disgustingly cute with eachother.

To those who celebrate it with their significant others, I'm happy for them. Me? Valentine's Day is on my cousin's birthday, so I celebrate her birthday each year on that day. That's all it means to me.

I've noticed a pattern in this thread, and it seems like the people who don't mind Valentine's Day, or are at the very least sort of indifferent towards it, have significant others that they can share the day with if they choose to, and those who absolutely loathe it with every bitter fiber of their soulless existence have never received a card or a generic box of chocolates in their cupid forsaken lives.

before boyfriend, i would get cards and candy and boys asking me out, during boyfriend, i grudgingly got toys and flowers and chocolates every so often but the anxiety as to wether or not i'd get that all important declaration of love in the form of a tiny toy rabbit purchased only because it looked like it had been vomitted on by a small child and washed roughly at some stage (yes, nothing says i love you quite like a vomit bunny) overshadowed anything. the eight years i spent with him i waited for him to do something that said he paid attention to what i liked and wanted and loved me enough to express it in something beyond a vomit bunny or some hastily bought roses but alas. he dumped me. for the record, i was waiting 365 days a year for that, not just valentines day.

now, after boyfriend, i have fun with my single ladies and its better than waiting for some stupid boy to disappoint me. this year however i have the flu and am starting a new job tomorrow so i'm alone, tired and sick so i'm being bitter about it. that is all.

Had my V-Day date and gift exchange last night. I told my peanut he had to make me a valentine or I was going to call the police. So, he did. It was very cute. He got me a single rose (with the price still on it, heh), and my favorite kind of chocolates.

I made him a valentine with an old postcard and I did calligraphy on it...ooh la la. It looked very fancy, but the content was extremely silly. And, I gave him an old kid's book from 1931. and a creepy doll head I found in the cab on the way over to the restaurant. I hope it's not cursed.

i stayed in bed almost all day with the flu. i went to lunch drove home fell asleep and got woken up by one of my single mates who took me to get a sundae and we both sat around and whinged and got bitter about love in general for a couple hrs. i missed thr music festival id been planning to attend and thus missed my chance to see the useless idiot i am currently courting which equals annoyance even though he is truly utterly useless and i deserve better. argh.

i then returned to my bed and slept. one of the worst weekends on record, even without valentines day messing it up.

I had to work and got a phonecall halfway through from my BF (male), asking if I wanted to go lasergaming with him. Ah man, I totally wanted to, why did he ask me on the only day of the week I had to work, meh.

Oh yeah, and then I had to work an hour longer and my supervisors had a long talk with me about all my faults and they basically want to change my personality into being a brainwashed Stepford wife type person who never expresses any anger and is happy, smiley and cheery all day even if everything is going wrong all at once and everyone is standing in my way. Worked 10+ hours on the special at the restaurant. Went home and got fancy. Had an awesome dinner at the fanciest vegan place in LA, and happened to run into my boss and his wife right as we were leaving and had a nice conversation. Came home and watched Futurama. Fell asleep together. Great 14th.
