Since you're the only other person aside from myself that has heard the album do you care to elaborate on your view?
Lyrically Snoop will never be the beast that he once was but I think he has the r&b/rap formula pretty much perfected. His newer shit has a few heaters on it too. I bought Ego Trippin' awhile back & it was just plain awful. It reminded me of the time I bought Nas's Streets Disciple which was the double album with no good tracks.

The album is basically Snoop painting by numbers. There's nothing on here that couldn't have been done by another artist, and probably better. He's even got a song with Soulja Boy. I'm just sayin. At least on Ego Trippin' he was trying to make something different.
Anyway, this guy is so far removed from being able to create anything remotely approaching Doggystyle caliber music it's hard to even believe it's the same artist. The closest he ever came to capturing that same feel was on The Last Meal. And even that album had tons of filler. But it's the closest he ever came to recording as cohesive an album again. He's had some strong material on all of his albums since then, most notably on Paid Tha Cost..., R&G, and Blue Carpet Treatment (all of which were quite consistent, despite bein underwhelming for the most part), but this latest album has virtually no exceptional moments on it whatsoever.
Also, I Wanna Rock has been his biggest hit since Drop It Like It's Hot, I think, but it's pretty forgettable. Even taking into consideration how much he's milked it to death with the 20 different remixes and whatnot, and all the airplay it's gotten. The producer didn't even go to the original (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj6LMPtidvM) sample, he just jacked it straight from It Takes Two. Talk about lazy.

i actually liked it. more so than a lot of his recent stuff. but i continue to grow in the terms of music that i appreciate. i used to hate on something just because say soldier boy was in it because i didnt like what he stood for. now i dont really care, its all about how it sounds. the tracks are catchy and i dont mind them.
its not that bad of an album 6.5/10 i would say. some pretty good beats.
that king Gz mix with jay Z is nice.
