Really... I wish I had more time in the day to come kick it and read and post stuff up in here.

What in the hell is it about this place that keeps me (and others, obviously) coming back over and over again? Not that I'm complaining... but it's kinda odd when I think about it.

Anyway, yeah, I miss having time to come here consistently. Hope y'all are doing well and hanging in there! Take 'er sleazy.

I realised I never had a posting hiatus like most other longer-term posters, and to be posting fairly consistently since Jan 04 makes me feel like a fucking loser. For about 5 seconds. Fuck it.

I've never taken a posting hiatus and I think I'm of the class of '04 too.

And, things being the way they are in my life right now, I am glad for it.

I was just being jokey snide. Didn't mean anything by it.

It's gotta be Friday night where you are, loosen up buddy!

Oh, you edited just in time.

I wonder the same thing.

I think you 04 kids shouldn't feel any shame, considering some others have posted here for 11 years *cough cough* :( haha.

I feel like you never left SS because you are by far the most active person on my facebook.

your only competition as far as quantity of status updates goes would be Bob.

There was the Grand Royal board to. Most of us crossed.

Then the temp boards in the crashes that we've had.

Easily plural.

I love this place.

Seems like a few of us old timers are coming back on the same cycle. I think I keep up on most of the folks on Facebook.

I just realised last month marked 7 years of me being here. Obviously not as Helvete, but I've used like 6 names or so.

I'm from 2004 as well. Have pretty much always kept lurking even if I don't post as much as I used to.

It always depended on how busy I was at work and how much fun a computer was at home after having spent 12-22 hour work days sat at one.

Like a-z, "long, strange trip."

Moved to L.A., moved back to MI (Detroit area), couldn't get ANY work, got a job in Grand Rapids, back in Allendale... trying to get back to L.A. again.

No, but I think I remember her picture and she was distinctively good-looking... which, oddly enough, isn't that uncommon on these boards. However, if I had run into her, I'm sure I would have remembered it.

Whoa! How are YOU!?

hello :)

you're gonna wish you hadn't asked that question as i've been quite ill for the past 8 months or so. mostly it's been that long because it took the doctors a while to discover what was wrong... with my lungs

anyway, it's not cancer, or they haven't found that yet. but some other long term disease. i've been off work for months and am only just starting to go back, very slowly. luckily (in this instance) i work for the house of commons and they have a good care policy.

so that, very boringly, is how i am.

how are you? i've missed this place a bit. might start posting again.

Whoa. I hope things turn out all right. What the hell? What do they think it is?

Whoa. I hope things turn out all right. What the hell? What do they think it is?

Oh, well they found out that I have a condition called bronchiectasis, which they were able to see with a CT scan. Basically it means that the tubes of your lungs are wider than they should be, so they allow all manner of crap to get in there. I am quite prone to chest infections.

So I have had this chest infection for which I had to take nebulised anti-biotics twice a day for 3 months. Very boring (and tiring). They also suspected this other infection, which doesn't really ever go away--you just manage it. Although that is not 100% diagnosed. Finally, they found I am a carrier of this mutated cystic fibrosis gene. They're still waiting on full results of that one.

The last thing is the most alarming, I guess. But I am reassured by the specialist (who happens to specialise in adult CF) that even if I turn out to have a type of CF, it is manageable. Yep, so happy days.

I am mostly feeling like my old self now, and have started back to work. So let's hope it's up from here. . .

I miss this place, but mostly because the beastie boys is my favorite band and because of some people, but I don't miss the time I used to post here. I was way too sad and insecure, I believe. However, I kinda miss my age at that time. Ooops, no insecure comments!:D

i love that this place has been more or less a good constant in my crazy life. i leave it for a while, come back when i need to. i lurk sometimes, just reading what people are saying... it's quite a lovely community to belong to. i appreciate it. (y)

and it dont hurt that most of you guys are totally willing to say nice things when i need the validation, and there's always people willing to bring me down back to size when my head is getting too big. :)
