Hey ya'll,
Do any of you have good luck with potted flowers? I'm thinking of going with flowers that do well in direct sunlight: rose moss, petunia, marigold, zinnia.

And I have the pots, I know about how plants need water :P and I'll be buying the seeds or whatever and the fertilzer, but what else do I need to know?

Help me as I continue my transition in to old and married-but-not status.

I've gotten in to slow cooker recipes lately as well, so feel free to throw those in too. I've made some great soups but I am wondering if I could find a good recipe to make some indian food in my slow cooker too...

seriously, haha. I really like it though. We have dinner parties with friends but no the frou-frou kind. We have cheap booze/wine/champagne and cheap food that we have all made usually.

We go to movies, stay in for movies. We've been going to some concerts but older acts as it's less crazy and we enjoy the music more anyhow (we are seeing Zapp tonight! ha). I love my slow cooker, I am finding the desire to cook more, and I want to tend plants.

I'm still playing video games a whole lot, though. Bioshock 2 is pretty darn fun. And we go dancing once a month or so.

:o

maybe you should use your slow cooker as a pot. that way when (if?) it freezes you can still have fertile soil.

Maybe we can share slow cooker recipes. I like making turkey chili in mine. :)

I can't give any specific advice, i've gotten into gardening now i have a huge garden but i'm essentially fairly shit at it. I do go a bit mad with the pots but i love to just shove some seeds into some soil, bit of water and hope for the best. Tend to try and grow any seeds out of fruit too, have a couple of little apple trees going, one that could be lemon, but can't get mango seeds to sprout. Also, don't really know the names of plants.....just like lots of them. You can probably grow better flowers in your climate anyway, i brought some seeds back from Singapore but i'm sure they won't want to grow in chilly Britain
