decent flick. rent it. but i had a question thats gonna be a big spoiler (basically ruin the movie for you if you havent seen it) so ill put it in white. anyone who saw it and has an opinion on it please share....

at the end when he says (paraphrasing) whats better to live as a monster or die a hero (not sure about him using the word hero, but i know the first part is monster).

when he says that do you think he really is cured and knows what hes done and what his wife did and that the treatment finally worked. but so he doesn't have to live with what has happened to him, he lies to his psychologist so they think the treatment didnt work and agree that hes hopeless and his brain is broken, thus ensuring he gets shock treatment/a lobotomy. which would ensure his memories are gone and hes basically a vegetable and wouldn't remember what he has done.

or

the treatment really just didnt work and hes going to get the shock treatment because thats what happens next.

?

i enjoyed this film a lot more than expected.

as far as your question..... i sort of felt that he figured out what they were trying to do, but i don't think he actually believed it in the end anyway.

Nothing about him is sleep inducing, unless you mean the kind that doesn't involve sleeping.

Prez --

I think you got it.

SPOILER

yeah, I think he makes a decision. Not saying the cure would be permanent -- Kingsley's character says he keeps reverting -- but I think he doesn't want to have to learn the truth afresh anymore. Sad, because there's also the implication that other patients will be more likely to just get medicated or lobotomized because his case was sort of setting a precedent.
