Revealing Crushes

In the past few years, I've had a few people admit they've had crushes on me. These few people were in serious relationships. While flattering, I don't quite get why you would come out when you couldn't do anything about it versus when you could. I'm not sure how to respond except "Hey, thats neat! Would have been great, eh?"

Anyone done this and why would you? I'd rather have not known.

I've actually asked this question before to friends elsewhere and I was told it's usually to just get it off their chest. For whatever reason, carrying it around in their head means they need to get it out. Even if the crush is no longer or even if they cannot or would not act on it.

Unfortunately this is something that has all too frequently happened to me...the worst part is that some of these girls are/were seeing one of my mates.

For the most I acted uninterested but I gave way to one and ended up losing a good group of mates.

I wouldn't do it, myself though. I'm like a pet dog; dependent, loving and faithful but without the wet smell and the ability to lick my own balls (but I'm working on the latter).
