If you couldnt tell, it's recorded live, so i had to use the metronome at the start as i didnt have a beat to follow to get the parts in time.

Not mines. I do the shit sans metronome because I'm a beast like that. I don't even worry bout the velocity on the pads, I just puh-puh-puh-puh-puh-puh-prprprprprprprprprprprpprpr-puh-pish-puh-pish-pish-pish on them shits and it comes out fire like that.

does anyone else just find araab music annoying when hes doing that shit? theres a hint of an ok beat in there then he pitch shifts it and starts smashing the pads

Well, I think it's more just a showcase for his ability. Cos nobody really wants to rhyme over shit like that. The beats he does for people's songs are usually just pretty generic and simple, basic even.

looks good. it'd be handy when using Battery or Ableton (y)
Got this (http://www.ableton.com/launchpad) too. Here it is in action (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6IVrWPJ4GA).
I could maybe venture into some live stuff with this (and some decks).

Only cost me about £140 for both and £38 import vat. I won a $250 voucher a while back. I made a thread (http://beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=91902) about it.
