Keep advocating for more government social programs like Obamacare, Chewy :)

I'm not sure what I'm paying for here in California. Probably bonds that idiots kept voting for. At least with "obamacare" i know I would be paying more for it and would get a heads up.

California changed the rules and didn't really let people know about it. Years previous, I would get $200 back. This year, I owe over $2500. To the fucking state.

Yeah I brought in like, MAYBE 30, MAYBE. More like 29ish. I somehow owe them money. It's only around $100 but still, what the hell man.

And just to add since I'm sure it will come up: if it were going to something like healthcare or education that would be lovely. I echo what chew said, basically.

My income is low enough that even if I owe $100ish I would like to have a heads up about it.

The united states needs to start fucking over rich people more.

"The average tax rate in Canada is much higher than in the United States. In Canada total tax and non-tax revenue for every level of government equals about 38.4% of GDP,[2] compared to the U.S. rate of 28.2%

The taxes are applied the same as well. Canada's income tax system is more heavily biased against the highest income earners, thus while Canada's income tax rate is higher on average, the bottom fifty percent of the population is roughly taxed the same on income as in the United States."

Same here. I got $400 back from federal and I owe California $100!?

I claimed 1 on my W4.

I am getting $170 from the feds and owe CA $100. So in the end I get $70 back total, ha, so at least I won't really be dipping out of what is already in the bank.

But it's not like I'm rolling in dough. Keeping the full $170 from the feds would have been nice.

I fear Washington is thisclose to implementing a state tax. We have a major budget crisis and no solution in sight. Can you list what you owe in state tax as a deduction or credit from federal?

Ugh, puke. I hate taxes.

My accountants have run off to Tijuana* with everyone's money and left me with £10.5k to pay to the tax man. That was not a nice suprise.
