The Flaming Lips.

I hear many great things about their live shows.
I've read them being described as "life-changing", which I know is ridiculous, but I'm curious.
I've seen the youtube clips and I'm familiar with their albums, but I'm curious to hear something from someone who's actually been to one of their shows.

Anybody ever been?

I had the opportunity to see them on the side stage at Lollapalooza at Molson park back in oh....94. They weren't very big, shit the Verve played the side stage and Tool did the year before.

I already bought the tics, the minute they went on sale this morning.
4th of July, House of Blues in Atlantic City.

Just wondering what to expect.

i love their shows!


as long as you enjoy their music, you will certainly have a good time. usually lights galore, bubbles/balls flying all over the place and lots of unusual costumes and such.


while life changing they might not be, they are by far the most exciting performers that i have ever seen in my day. (y)


i'd be tempted to join you for the show if i was free that weekend.

lets just say that the show that goes on fits very well with the music....


plus, the recently did a thing covering dark side of the moon, so some of that might make it into the mix

I saw them live 3 times in the same year...I think back in 2003 or something. there was a lot of fake blood, balloons, a video screen, fist pumping. very positive and uplifting.

you're better off being surprised. there are costumes and lights and the band plays music. you don't really need to know more than that.

however, I don't know what their show is like now. especially with Embryonic being so experimental and kinda dark.
