I think Hamilton. I know he is no-ones favourite outside the UK but it looks like he has grown up a bit and ready to become a serious driver from the odd interviews I've read.

I totally forgot about this though - thanks for the reminder. Just looking for a stream and it seems BBC have a link - do they have the rights now?

Watching the coverage just now, its the first I've learnt about the changes - for the better I think.

I missed the 2nd half of last season and didn't keep up with any news during the bread - only really seen the british drivers interviewed last couple of weeks so maybe saying hamilton is a little skewed. I'm looking forward to this tho and I'm not changing my choice since its now in the poll.

brrrrrroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom!

^ indeed, i have to stock with massa but alonso is a tough cookie and if he gets a lead he'll know how to hang on to it. I am hoping it'll be a battle between him and hamilton cos that could get a bit spicy.

I'm putting a sneaky bet on Pierce Brosnan...the bookies gave me 2,000,000:1 odds..BOOM!

Really enjoyed the Australian race. Button obviously called it perfectly and seems to be in the flow.

But I think there is so many potential winners of the championship right now it'll be a great first half of season at least. A 3 or maybe 4 person challenge to the championship is very possible to the final races

Also, I don't like Ferrari (dunno why tho) so glad to see them not dominating - but I do like Alonso... I do dislike Schumacher however so glad to see him not on my screen

Back to back races where the only way vettel was stopped was by his own car.

I enjoyed watching last week's race though. He should the Virgin team even be allowed to race if they don't have enough fuel in thier cars to finish the race?

I think so. It needs the lower teams in there mixing it up - virgin group can find the money and resources to fix the problem quick enough. They aren't expected to finish many races, this season is almost testing for them and you have to make some pretty big fudge ups before you get a package that you can then race with - top teams still make major mistakes, the only way you can get them out of the way is by being in the mix.

I like lots of cars on the track, makes several contests in the same race.

I'll say Button because he has a nice looking bird

Camerman loved her during the award ceremony. Like she had everything to do with the win.

I would pretty much guess they all have nice looking birds - multi-millionaires that travel the world for their job; personality and looks aren't much of a consideration after that.

two laps before webber's last "mishap", i told my friend he will fuck up somehow or his car will die or a cat run into his air intake or something... we burst into laughter when he railed hamilton. story of his life.

go ferrari! my pick is jenson for the championship. he dominated melbourne and bahrain was just teething. otherwise, vettel or massa.

I find myself pulling for vettel, but i think alonso or button will do it again.

Loved the qualifying at Malaysia - nice to see it all mixed up with some FAIL from the big teams and some excellent choices from the lower teams.

Looking forward to the race (y)

Vettel should have won all three races to this point. As long as he has a reliable car he will repeat yesterdays performance again and again and again.

Webber would have been so angry at himself for opening the door wide enough to let Vettel thru on that first corner.

if red bull get their shit together Vettel will run away with the championship. but then again every car webber ever gets no matter how fast/reliable seems to fuck up somewhere along the line (aka 98 CLK GTR). unluckiest man in motorsport

This - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8624282.stm is kinda brilliant.

Sebastien Buemi escapes 200mph crash unhurt in Shanghai - his wheels just come off.

Not sure if the video will work outside the UK being BBC but search youtube or whatever as its worth it and bound to be on there.

So the best bit of sport there has been on all weekend was the canadian qualifying and grand prix. I hope you all got to watch it, glad to see it back on the calendar. Grats to lewis Hamilton, he did actually deserve that one.

And Schumacher has done nothing but bad things for his rep, made at least 4 dangerous or stupid moves that I think will have him penalised in some way for the next race.

agreed.

Felipe Massa is not the same guy either, Ferrari should be looking to replace him.

I am thinking a Button win today. I think Alonso will do something crazy. I think it will be a good race.

Betting:
Fernando Alonso 4/6
Jenson Button 5/2
Lewis Hamilton 6/1
Felipe Massa 12/1
Mark Webber 16/1
Sebastian Vettel 20/1

And then I didn't realise time and only caught the last 5 or so laps. Oops. Seemed like I missed a good one.

shit it's close this season, much better than the snoozefest it was last year. i can't pick a winner yet. as long as it's not that dirty cheating fucker Alonso i'll be happy.
