Ok, so I know this sounds weird, but I'm looking for any and all of the Beastie Records, but I need them uncensored ( I already have the regular ones ), were they ever made? My wife and I are expecting our first child in about 3-4 weeks and I want to be able to play the records once he is home but I don't want him hearing the curses even though there aren't that many.
Anyone know anything about them?

The versions you have are uncensored.
I have seen clean versions of some of the albums, Amazon can probably locate some - like TT5B, but I know you can definitely find a clean Ill Communication on Itunes. Maybe just google the rest, though I can't say I've seen CYH or PB edited/clean editions.

They wont remember listening to it anyways. Don't you want your child to be brought up in a non censored society? Otherwise the other posts are correct, itunes,Amazon, Wall-Mart or China.......

Anyone know anything about them?Am I misunderstanding you completely or do you need censored versions, not the uncensored ones?

TT5B was definitely released with clean, edited, censored whatever you wanna call it version. When it came out I was working at a record store and we bought a copy to play it in the store.
I'm 99% sure there isn't a clean version of PB.
But, you can always play ISFWO and TMU without damaging the young ones ears.

For a record with Parental Advisory, Licensed to Ill would still be pretty suitable to play to your child.

Maybe in terms of straight up number of obscenities but the content on that of all their albums is by far the worst for a formative mind.

There is definitely a censored version of Ill Communication knocking about. I'm sure it was a shop sampler or something. It was posted here about a year ago.

without context, it would be of negligible impact.

Depends what you mean by "impact". A kid running round going "I'll steal your honey like I stole your bike" might seem harmless enough but if this is the kinda guy who wants to find censored versions of Beastie Boys records then he's most likely going to catch a hernia over that shit.

It's got Pirates and Honey, it's built for kids. Slow and Low could be a Wiggles song. I know what little Optimus Rutteger will be listening to when he bursts forth. (y)

if the original copy had a parental advisory tag than there is most likely a chance that they have a clean version. LTI, PB, and HN will not have clean versions, unless the remastered ones that were released with the PA tag were made clean.
Amazons your best bet.
I think you should check out the censored version of 'Straight Outta Compton' while you're at it, it's like a completely different album.

the irony of his name, the 'uncensored' thing, wanting to hide the real world from his kids in 2010 is just mindbending............ sigh. god i hate this planet.

That shit would be half an hour long.
Also, I actually prefer the clean version of TT5B. Certain songs (especially 3 The Hard Way) just sound better.

I have TT5B censored version (from wal-mart, bought it for a 10 year old)and also have seen and heard a RADIO PROMO EDITED version of Ill Communication. So one does exist, the lyrics werent different just blank where they swear.
Why would you think your album is censored? Do you live in North Korea?

I dont like it because you can tell they went it afterwords and dubbed the clean verses. Its very evident on some songs.
...And if you dont like it then hey *honk* you!
