At this point now I have lived outside the US so long, I no longer have any idea who at least 75% of the people in those magazines are. I keep turning the pages and going "Who? Huh?"

I did some quick research on this chick recently to see what all the hub bub was about. She recently had a song leak from years ago that took a jab at britney spears, she said, something about how she didn't write those lines, the song was from when she was 15. and that she has "mad respect" for britney.

That got me thinking...this chick has been a pop star in training since she was 15. The whole, "drunk party girl" thing is completely calculated. In fact, the whole single is a perfectly produced contemporary pop masterpiece.

Whoever is behind it is a fucking genius.

That said, I don't really think it can be duplicated with her. She lacks the personality to carry the fame.

This is actually a nice assessment of her phrasing. She sings like one side of her mouth is paralyzed. I use the term "sing" loosely, what she does is more of a rhythmic speaking.

Anyway, yeah, I really don't get it. Whoever signed her must be a genius because I just don't see it. She's already famous and I still don't see it. The first time I saw one of her videos I felt sorry for her because I was sure she was going to completely bomb, she wasn't pretty or charismatic, there was nothing even remotely interesting about her.
