I was walking to work this morning and I was watching/listening to a woodpecker working…woodpeckers are mad interesting…they just look naturally nuts…and if you laugh at them they don’t appreciate it,you know, but how can you not laugh I say?…any way’s this got me to thinking about the best noises from the wild kingdom that you’ve witnessed and like the most?…
Loon singing…
Cat purring…
Coyote howling…
Bird of prey screaming…
Whale breaching…
Owl hooting…
Horse neighing…

I own a baby giraffe and they make the cutest noises. He kinda sounds like a J Micheal alto with selmer mouthpiece and rovner ligature.

I made a thread about this guy and now there's a YouTube vid of him. Enjoy the birdman!

I rather like dolphin sounds as well...allthough I've yet to meet one...But I also suspect they know something we don’t…grinning…always’s grinning…I think Douglas Adams was onto them…and look where that got him…

Wouldn't it be weird if lions hissed like domesticated cats do?

^An interesting point of Evolution,me thinks...we did have a cat that tried to talk to birds or squirrels in a most non-cat like way...I swear she was trying to chirp...(y)

Sounds I like a lot:
squirrels chattering
birds chirping, whistling, singing, cooing
cats purring
I love the thing excited dogs do where they pants, stop for a moment to swallow all the saliva they're producing, then resume mid-pant
lions roaring
bears roaring
dolphins chattering
whale songs
turkey gobbles

bears roaring
bears rarely roar...mostly they just huff, grunt and then knock your tent down...turkey's gobbling sounds like pervert speak...
Pheasants cooing...

There's a dog somewhere behind my garden that sounds just like a turkey, i can't explain, it just does. It's not a nice noise.
I love it when Buzzards are calling overhead but there's been a few attacks around here by them so it's a bit worrying too when they're circling close by.
Bats squeaking is a great noise, owls too.
Audio.
