Why do people make threads about the lack of activity on this forum, or the lack of discussion of a certain topic that you think is important?

It would seem to make a lot more sense if you just started a thread of discussion about the topic yourself. (Not specifically you Guy Inc., I mean the collective of people who do this).

You'd be solving both problems in one shot.
You'd be contributing activity to the forum, and you'd be starting conversation of the topic you're interested in.

This is the second day in a row someone has mentioned the silence around here.

guy's talking about the uk election, he has a topic

you're talking about me and i gave you about 30 topics to discuss

my topic was, why aren't the usual characters (you among them) discussing them? there's a lot of talk in here but nothing really when important shit comes up

im not as good as you guys at these discussions.

In reality I think we've all just had enough of it.
No matter the topic, every thread ends up falling along the same partisan lines.
Everyone plays their same positions in every discussion.
You can just about predict the responses the usual suspects are going to reply with.
I think everyone's just burnt out from this forum. I know I am.

Personally, I've also been sort of preoccupied with problems in my personal life, haven't had the time or energy to post here lately, or to care about current affairs as much as I used to.
