No, I'm not compensating for anything.

I haven't had proper web for well over a month, I've had to use my smart phone for most of and my 3G connection has a 1GB fair use policy.

I'm just showing off really in this thread. 50Mb OF PORN PER SECOND UNCAPPED UNTHROTTLED RIGHT INTO MY EYES!

Probably less cus I can hook myself back up to MMO's and multiplayer's - lucky for you guys. Plus I have lots of series to catch up - especially Lost, tempting to click that thread but last episode I saw was Everybody Loves Hugo which basically used all of my fair usage policy one week for the month.

So yeah. 50Mb is pretty awesome. What sold it was the no throttling of bandwidth for downloading, all other speeds they do throttle.

Is 50Mb slow for you? Where are you?

Fastest average is Korea apparently at 22Mb/s, US on 7.75 and UK on 5.69. I know places you can get over 300Mb and I'm sure I've read someone in The Netherlands set up a over 1Gb/s as an experiment but I assumed not all that common.

Its only on my mobile (aka cell) phone there is a "fair use" limit and all that happens is that they throttle the speed when you go over it. Most network carriers have that. Also no limit on ISP via A/DSL either but sometimes fair use. So say if you had 10Mb/s and you used over your 5GB allowance in one day they'd throttle your speed by up to 75% at busy times so you'd only get 2.5Mb/s. What sold the 50 service to me was that that doesn't happen - well worth the extra. From what little I know, most ISPs all over the world do that - maybe you've not noticed it but I'd be surprised if you haven't got it unless you're paying a premium (like me) not to have it.

Wow, what a dull conversation this thread is - sorry :o

we don't have such "allowances"

atleast none of the carriers in my area

you get what you ordered and you have your internet speed 24/7 no matter what from the lowest deals to teh highest deals.
