right so i just had to do a proper grown up thing.

I had to ring the council to ask them to remove grafitti.

Basically took my daughter to our local park and a load of twats have sprayed it with tags and cocks etc all over it. big massive red willy on the kids slide.

my daughter wouldnt go on the slide, not because she knew what the drawing was but because she thought it was wet paint. one other girl wouldnt go on it because there "was a willy on it".

3 other kids turned up, i'd say that they were about 8 yrs old and one saw a willy drawing and said "that is rude and innappropriate". Her mate asked her what it was to which she whispered "its a penis". So that made me mind up to complain. even though it made me laugh a bit.
I just felt really old and responsible that i was pissed off. i wasnt that pissed off when i initially saw it but then seeing the effects it had on the kids was a bit of a shock.

EDIT: forgot half of me tale! I rang the council and despite me saying that the drawings were offensive.

the woman asked what they were, i asked if she "really needed to know that detail, its graffitti on a kids park, cant you just clean it up?" "Was it of a sexual nature sir" I said "yes, there were willies everywhere". I didnt know what else to say, she took me by surprise. why did it matter what the grafitti was , is it graded or summat, if someone completely defaced a park but with non threatening images and correctly spelt words and phrases would they not bother?

haha "twats sprayed it with willies"

interesting image...

don't blame you for complaining. I would have done the same... or at least have intended to.

Limited resources means they probably do grade it, if of a sexual nature they are likely to want to put it higher on the to-do list than say tags from football teams.

Hope they sort it out quickly for you

maybe she wanted to know if they were racist or something

Yes, what Bob and Adam said. If for example it had been something like swastikas or 'pakis go home' or something like that, it's considered evidence of a hate crime and needs to be photographed, logged, scene searched for other evidence, etc. Also anything graphically sexual is prioritised as being more immediately necessary for removal than just your basic tag.

this story is so delightfully british

little kids thinking something is rude and inapropriate....

completely different mindset from where im from. the kids would just be all like
HA HA a dick on the slide! and just go about their business sliding down the slide.

yeah that figures although it must be weird working for that dept.

"Whats on the worklist today?"
"we have three cocks on a park to clean then wipe a pair of tits off the side of a chip shop".

if they havent done anything in a week i am tempted to ring back and ask "have you cleaned those cocks off yet?"

I did think i was being a bit british when posting this. and i suppose i should be grateful my kids have a fully functioning park at the back of me house.

When i was 8, i knew some words for dick, like err... dick for example but not sure i knew the word "penis" then or "inappropriate" for that matter

Inappropriate is a big word for most people around my way, let alone an 8 year old.

It was probably an 8 year old genius.

My 8 yr old knows what it means but he wouldn't call a willy on a slide "inappropriate", just well funny, allthough he would probably say that some idiot had done it and would want it removed

Guy, i loved how you started off the thread with...Right...that did make it sound terribly british!

In a park here they've just put up some seating with a bit of a (graffiti-proof) shelter around it, it's called a "youth meeting area" to keep the yoofs off the streets...awesome. That'll sort out all the antisocial behaviour.
