It really is kind of an anomaly how brittish accents translate so well to Rock & Roll, but not with Hip Hop, considering both music generes draw their roots from black american culture.

Paddy cant win, he posts one uk hip hop tune and everyone slates for being too american so he posts something that has a real uk identity and style and that gets stick for being too british.

i liked it, some of the other tracks are good, i'd heard a bit before and am still waiting for love film to send me the movie.

I don't think anyone's in a position to say lyrical content is "not hip-hop" when the song in question is clearly hip-hop.

I think its what you're used to. Padster gets a hard time as most the titles of his thread are denouncing everything else in the world and this is the one true word etc - like a preacher trying to sell you their religion, the only people that want to hear that type of announcement are the already converted. If the title of the thread, was: check this out, british hip hop at its finest then more people would probably say "yeah, not bad has potential blah blah blah".

Its the sales pitch thats wrong. If I wanted to sell you a vacuum cleaner to replace one that you love I wouldn't say "that piece of junk makes me ill that its been cleaning your disgusting home pathetically for the past 2 years". I'd say "you loved your old cleaner right? I can see you keep a good home, well this new and improved version sucks harder than your mom" or similar. I digress.

I haven't really liked hip hop since about 1995, but I am old.

At first i was inclined to agree with you but after a bit more thought, i think if paddy builds it up a bit more than a thread called "Scorzayzee" then it creates conversation and larger threads and more people actually giving the stuff a listen.
