The ANSWER Coalition, along with many other organizations and individuals, is co-sponsoring and organizing for emergency protests taking place in Washington, D.C., and around the country to denounce the Israeli military massacre of activists on a Gaza aid convoy. At least 19 international activists were killed by Israel, with dozens injured. The death toll may rise.

In an act of piracy and a blatant violation of international law, the Israeli government has committed a cold-blooded massacre on the high seas against a group of courageous individuals whose only crime was to extend a hand of solidarity to the besieged and blockaded people in Gaza.

The Gaza aid flotilla is made up of seven ships carrying 700 people and bringing medical, construction and school supplies to besieged Palestinians in Gaza. It was attacked in international waters by 14 Israeli ships. Heavily armed Israeli commandos dropped onto the ships from helicopters and opened fire on the activists.

Gaza has been blockaded by Israel since 2007 with full backing by the U.S. government. The blockade is a brutal form of collective punishment aimed at strangling the Palestinian people. Since coming to office, the Obama administration has continued the enormous funding to Israel allowing the continued siege of Gaza, the occupation and expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and Israel's non-stop war against all of the Palestinian people. President Obama has promised at least $30 billion in military aid to Israel over the next 10 years.

Come out to these protests to condemn this outrageous massacre and call for an immediate end of the siege of Gaza.

another oppportunity to protest.

On Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, demonstrations will take place across the country and around the world to protest the murderous attack by the Israeli army on seven boats carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. At least nine volunteer aid workers were killed and dozens seriously wounded.

The response to the latest Israel atrocity is global and powerful. Let us make this a defining movement in the Palestinian peoples’ struggle for justice and self-determination.

Please make an urgently needed donation to support the work of the ANSWER Coalition.

Israel has maintained a blockade on Gaza – an impoverished area home to 1.6 million Palestinians – for more than three years. The attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla was an act of piracy and a war crime carried out in international waters.

Attempting to turn reality upside-down, the Israeli military is now posing as the “victim” in this incident. Israel is only able to carry out massacres like this and the ongoing oppression of the Palestinian people due to the huge military, economic and diplomatic support it receives from the U.S. government.

June 5 will mark the 43rd anniversary of the 1967 war, when Israel conquered the West Bank and Gaza, along with Syria’s Golan Heights, all areas that Israel continues to occupy to this day.

Now is the time to make your voice heard! Join us to say:

End the Blockade of Gaza NOW!
Justice for the Victims of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla – Prosecute Israel for War Crimes!
Cut All U.S. Aid to Israel!
End Colonial Occupation – Self-Determination for the Palestinian People!
Support the Right of Return!

In Washington, D.C., protesters will gather at the White House (north side) at 5:00 pm.

Cities holding demonstrations also include Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Rosa, California; New York City, New York; Seattle, Washington; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Tampa, Florida.

Besides the legality of the Israeli pirate like invasion of the ship, they killed people and made sure they killed people

One of them - A 19 year old U.S. Citizen (again) who was shot 5 times from different angles (front and back).

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100604/wl_nm/us_israel_flotilla_autopsies

The autopsy results showed that a 60-year-old man, Ibrahim Bilgen, was shot four times in the temple, chest, hip and back, the Guardian said.

A 19-year-old, named as Fulkan Dogan, who also has U.S. citizenship, was shot five times from less than 45 cm (18 inches) away, in the face, the back of the head, twice in the leg and once in the back, it said.

Two other men were shot four times. Five of those killed were shot either in the back of the head or in the back, the Guardian quoted Buyuk as saying.

In addition to those killed, 48 others suffered gunshot wounds and six activists were still missing, he added.

If anyone is siding with the IDF they should be deeply ashamed - including our President and VP

This is a bad idea - I bet Iran has something up their sleeve *cough* nuke *cough* and thus want to be forced to prove they have it if Israel does anything stupid as well.

NATO should be stepping in
