I'm seeing this one in about half an hour, fingers crossed. Something tells me a little Russell Brand goes a very long way.

I left with about 15 minutes to go, but felt like I'd seen enough to say 4/10.

This was just... poor. And it's not the movie's fault, but there was one lone dude in the theater of maybe a dozen or so people who
felt the need to emit a forced, shrilly cackle now and again at "funny" bits while there were zero other people laughing.
The women in the row in front of me would then glance
at each other and offer embarassed-for-him smirks.

Ugh. This was bad. Almost watchable, but zero narrative drive, and I couldn't have cared less about Aldous. Aaron... maybe a tiny bit.
Jonah Hill is good enough that he even brought something to this chump.

Too bad, even Almost Famous was disappointing as far as a good Rock and Roll movie, the grit and set up of a live show is usually missed in these movies about Rock and Roll. The balance is always a bit off bubble by the writers and directors.

Detroit Rock City is still my #1 RnR Comedy movie... as far as performance U23D in 3D was, is and continues to be the most amazing Rock and Roll movie.

My friend noted that since we have to wait another year for our U2 concerts. they need to re-release that movie again. I saw it when it was released and I saw it when it was re-released. But I'd go for more!

I know you walk out of films.....(i never have, but have come close aobut twice)...but I genuinely can't understand how someone would walk out of a film with 15 minutes to go....why not just stay? It boggles my mind.

It wasn't absolutely unwatchable.

I just think my time is more valuable. If I'm paying for entertainment and it's not working, there's no reason to be held hostage.

thanks for the heads up, i probably won't bother with this one. (although i never go to the bigscreen anyway unless its free in which case i will see anything)

i wasn't sure what to think of this one. russell brand sort of annoys me but i also think he has potential to be quite hilarious. sort of like tom green, but better.

I walked out of You Don't Mess With The Zohan with about 15 minutes to go. It was miserably bad, and I did not care how it ended and could not stand another second of it.

Yeah. There's a point where I get a little sick with myself for having stayed with it even that far.

To be fair, annoying shrieky-laugh guy wasn't helping things. There would be these long stretches of audience silence, then something would
happen which was just comedy enough for him to hang a laugh on, and there would suddenly be this huge, desperate, "This is the funniest
thing EVAH!!!" laugh he would choke out, followed by askance looks from audience members then another arid patch of audience silence. He
was in my row with only about six seats between us, and it really got on my nerves.

But yeah, it takes a certain special movie to get to the point where things are going to start wrapping up and after an hour plus, you just don't
care if you ever find out or not. This was a pretty predictable movie, so I can figure it out with minimal loss of brain cells, but it's not worth my
time.

Warning my Internet friends is, of course. ;)

i thought it was pretty funny. not greatest movie ever, but pretty funny. silly.

the theatre i was in was full, on a weekday night, most people were older (as in not teenagers). everyone laughed. a lot. some dude actually snorted a lot. that was even funnier.

maybe you're not supposed to expect greatness and be pleasantly surprised. or maybe i have the sense of humor of a suburban 40-something.

Russell Brand is about as funny as treading in dog shit in a new pair of sneakers

I thought it was hilarious. Puff Daddy really surprised me and stole the show. Thought it was pretty cool that Jonah wears a Beastie Boys shirt for half of the movie too. (y)

totally agree.

lets be serious abcdefz, what did you do with that 15 minutes when you got out of that movie? probably nothing. so why not stay, you literally paid for that time.

my bro saw this, said it was pretty funny. ending was kind of cliche.

i quite liked it, its pretty good.

P Diddy steals the show though.

And it also features the oddest cameo ever.

I am gonna go out on a limb here - but I really enjoyed it, I thought it was pretty damned funny. Not Hangover funny but still really good.

he's not that big...saw him do stand up in LA awhile back and he's pretty short with very slender limbs. his belly is gigantic, but looks bigger on account of his tiny arms.
