Weel, I didn't tell you (cause I was absent from here from quite a while) but last month, more specifically on May 15th, I've broken my left wrist playing football. (http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/1662/scan0001zi.jpg)
Anyway, I had surgery to put a titanium plate to fix the radius. The good thing is I'll only return to my job on June 27th. I'll be able to watch all the World Cup matches till there (y)
So, any of you also have some sort of metal, pins, screws on your bodies?
when i got braces, i got a small metal brace on the back of my four front teeth on my lower jaw. i was supposed to get it removed when i was 16 or maybe 18 or maybe 21, i forget, but uhhhh it's still there, making it very uncomfortable to floss (so i don't)
it's kind of a pain in the ass because i've been trying to volunteer for fMRI experiments for booze money but it's been kind of a dealbreaker
I've got pins in my right knee. I came of my board badly when I was about 16. I never really notice or remember it until I get to airport security. The best one was at the Empire State where I had to take off my belt, my glasses, and the alarm still triggered because I had totally forgotten about my knee

I broke my wrist snowboarding in 2005, now it has a titanium plate (y)
recovery was quite quick - about a month and a half - sucks that it was broken for all of winter break.

I think we have the same case. You still have the plate? I forgot to ask my doctor if someday I'll need to take it off.
Another question. Does the weather interfer on the pain? Cause I've noticed in the cold my arm hurts a lot more.

yup, the plate is forever - on the radius, luckily I didn't break the ulna
it was fucking freaky man, the instant I impacted I knew it was broken and I still boarded down the rest of the hill - fucking ouch!
I didn't want the medics to cut my glove so when they pulled it off it was fucking painful and my wrist had this freaky bend in it (sorta how your x-ray looks) - I had it set and was in a half cast for 2 weeks before my operation - talk about misery.
But since I've healed no problems (some slight stiffness and I crack it on occasion) but I can still rip a killer side arm throw of a baseball and my disc golf game is pretty impressive. It is not detected in metal detectors as well.
my doc did a great job - incision scar is on the inside so that's a plus, I know a girl with it on the outside and it's fugly.

Same here. As a substitute for flossing I scrape the shit off with a hairpin, it works quite well.
also two of these, titanium (http://imgur.com/teWki.jpg)

Oh yeah, the doc said I also had a little fissure in the ulna. Not a big deal tho (his words).

I've got a plate and a few screws in my right foot, to hold my 5th metatarsal together. Metal's been in there 8 years, so far so good.
