Man, I honestly don't have any changes that happened. I don't know if that's good or bad.
Oh, we were going to get a house together, got into a big, stupid arguement and we cancelled the contract. We made up and are trying again and waiting to see if we got the loan.

1. Got a new job (6 months now at this point though) that is equally awesome and awful:
It's better paying than my jobs before it and they are going to pay for me to finish school. Because my background story of trying to finish school... I want to break down and cry I am so grateful. I've been through a ton trying to get back to that point of finishing school, all of it being derailed with serious life changing and uprooting events that almost seriously sent me to a mental hospital. So the going back to school part of it is even more fantastic/amazing/awesome.
At the same time, it's also the most frustrating and stressful job as my position is also covering three other full-time positions at the same time. It's bad enough that I am working hard to pep talk my way through the especially difficult days. It's extremely draining. Not to mention some specific personnel that constantly clashes with the group of personnel I am a part of... and I have seriously been someone they try to use as a scapegoat to cover their own ass. Luckily I have a boss that knows better, but it's really stressful and insulting to have so many people do that. Blah, long stories but wow if it wasn't for the free school, I would seriously walk away from this job.
2. Moved in to a bigger apartment with my partner which allowed us to create an office for him and a hobby space for myself. We also have more people over for various events and picking out things to go on the wall was fun. :) Not to mention the serious entertainment collection we have (all the gaming systems, wee!).
3. I learned the definition of "muscle failure" and how to push myself to work harder than I realized. That in turn made me realize that pushing myself like that is an essential part of keeping myself happy.
4. Recognized that I am not completely "fixed" after that uprooting I described above in #1, but the fact that I am not completed fixed is okay.
About two and a half years ago, after seeing that the situations in my life were NOT normal, stopping them still did not happen overnight. It took me 6 months to finally break myself free of them, and it's been two years from that point now. It was an entire lifetime of situations I had to free myself of and so that means it's an entire lifetime of emotional things that I've had to address. I can't expect that I am going to be 100% fine after just two years. I should be proud that I've come as far as a I have and not get so down on myself as often as I do.
5. My partner lost his Mother, my future Mother-in-law, in a really horrific, emotionally traumatizing way. It's still hard for him, as are the things that happened in it's after math; family tensions and so much pressure on him as he's the sole executor. Some days I still can't believe it even happened. But it's definitely magnified how important having each other is.

Yeah I dunno, I was trying to think how to answer this one when this thread popped up a couple weeks ago. If we can stretch the "past year" thing about a month, basically, it's been just over a year since the move to Shanghai, so it's sort of like, you know, everything changed and a lot of stuff happened, and it's really hard to organise it into a 'top 5' format, because it's all... just... so... different now.

1. Finally got really into doing standup, due to not working for about 9 months now.
2. Won the Lionsgate script thing.
3. Started hanging out with other comics consistently and now have an amazing group of friends who I'm going to know for years to come. These are the people who will all be there a we each evolve, get jobs, get tv shows, whatever happens.
4. Started producing two of the best underground comedy shows in LA, if I do say so myself.
5. Wrote my first original pilot with some friends. I love it and I am determined to get it made someday.
All in all, a lot of positive things. Right now I'm in a funk, broke, and kinda sad. But hopefully it's a phase.
i don't know how to organize it into a top 5 but suffice it to say i think i'm at the lowest point in my life right now
i hope! for all i know it could get lower
the shittiest part is that age-wise i'm in my prime, so this is an unlucky time to be miserable. i wish i weren't, but i am
How old are you bob?
I think you're about 25 right? Life gets better the older you get, it ain't your prime (or at least wasn't mine). No advice really but I think prime is at least 28+
cool hand luke was 25 and he said he was in his prime
i think
i dunno it's been awhile
anyway yeah i'm 25. 26 in a week. it will be an amazing birthday i'm sure

people didn't live that long back then. 35 is the new 25!
at least that's what I like to tell myself. and by that logic, I'll turn 21 in a month!
