Been a few months since I completed TLAD & Gay Tony.
I still love that shit. Wish GTA5 would start materialising.

I still haven't played it as I still haven't bought a PS3 or an X Box
Its worth buying such consoles to play the game.
They really nailed the movement of the character in GTA4. Lost some of the features from other games but overall its been the best GTA so far.
I've actually been thinking of restarting a game.

Get that Red Dead Redemption, it's pretty fucking good.
Audio.

Yeah Red Dead Redemption is pretty much the new GTA.
Lots of crazy shit goes on in this game. Like a whore getting stabbed outside a saloon or a cannibal eating the head of some passer-by in the middle of now where and possibly a half cougar half man thingy.
But hey you can always get piss drunk in Mexico.

Rockstar seriously fucked up the PC version of GTAIV, but they managed to salvage a game from the mess after releasing numerous patches.
It was an awful sloppy port - which greatly ruined what is a genuinely good game. Unfortunately the Episodes pack works just as badly, if not worse. I gave up after struggling through TLAD with slow-down, pop-up and other graphical glitches pissing me off, and by the time I got halfway through TBoGT I'd had enough.
Hopefully they won't do the same to Red Dead Redemption when they get around to releasing it on PC.

Yeah I'm happy to be spectacularly wrong about these games when I'm in a good mood and feel like partaking of their on-rails version of open world. I'm one of the few people who really enjoyed Lost and the Damned.

resolve that shit man

Sounds like you need to play it on Xbox or PS3- it really is amazing how smooth and real it looks, the little graphical touches still knock me sideways sometimes- and it's about 3 years old.
It's a little sharper on the xbox but I like the slightly blurred look on the ps3 - it gives it a hyper realistic look to it.
The character models haven't aged well but the city still looks superb (y)

Yeah I agree, the city looks lush as fuck, characters do look a bit dated compared to COD et al, but they've got that almost-cartoonish GTA quality about them which is still cool.
it's very popular to hate on GTA 4 and say "oh it's trying to be too serious and saint's row 2 is what it should have been" and whatever but i dunno, i think they pulled off the realistic vibe pretty well
i'm kind of sick of rockstar's stupid sense of humor all over it though. i was playing it again yesterday and trying to find a radio station without a stupid commercial playing but it's just impossible and they're terrible and made for 14 year olds. i also kind of hate how the radio stations apparently reset every time you start a new mission or get out of the car or something so you only ever hear the same songs over and over. i mean this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GwhQsLzZus) takes a long time to get old, sure, but if i have to hear "FROM THE STREETS OF SOUTH BOHAN" one more time...
Yeah but I didn't mean dated in style or capture, because I love the cartoonish stylings - I just mean in the quality of the model ie textures & layers.
Another amazing thing about the city is the insane amount of time and effort spent in the detail of the city. From the out of season fairground to the newspapers littering the streets. Even the pedestrians have a huge amount of random dialogue to mutter as you wander by.

I know, I was agreeing fool!
And yeah, the detail on the city is completely mindblowing. Sometimes it even feels a little too real- I hope the next GTA is a good mix of the realism of 4 and the stylized vibe of Vice City/San Andreas.

you need atleast a quad core to play this shit on PC with high frame rates. it was designed to use a tri core because that's what the 360 has.

I only started Gay Tony in January, and got sidetracked. If I loved Lost and Damned, I think the next one should be even better.
My favourite moment from 'Vanilla' GTA IV:
I came out of the bank hold-up mission with none of my crew anywhere to be seen, fuck all traffic around, and the sound of sirens in the distance. Like a madman I ran into the middle of the road, shotgun drawn, and made a play for the first vehicle I spotted: A big fuck off truck. Right as I approached the cab, it starts raining, and when I get in the big rig 'I wanna be your dog' is on the radio. Awesome.
So my windows are being blasted out, it's pissing down with rain, I'm careening all over the ever narrowing streets on my getaway jaunt, and it's so messed up I want you here. It was pretty dope.(y)

I was just clarifying my point bro.
I hope they bring back the countryside of San Andreas. Dirt bikes ftw.

No, fuck getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere having crashed your vehicle into a river, running for 20 minutes, and then only finding tractors and pickups to steal.

everything was too fucking spread out. you had to drive for like ten minutes to get to certain places.

I remember there was one mission where you had to drive for 15 minutes out to the middle of nowhere to meet Cesar, then drive with him for 15 minutes out to some little hick town to take some photos, and then drive for 15 minutes to somewhere else in the middle of nowhere, and then Cesar says "Yo, thanks for the help, CJ! I'll see you later, mang" and FUCKING DRIVES OFF, leaving you without a vehicle in the middle of the fucking forest :mad::mad:

and if something should go wrong during that mission (say you accidentally flip your car over) you have to start it over from the very beginning!
there was one really unforgivable mission, where in order to start it, you had to have a level 3 underwater breathing skill or something. and if you, like most people, hadn't spent much time underwater up until that point, you had to take a good 10 minutes of grinding of swimming underwater and then swimming back up to the surface before you could take the mission. it was a pretty annoying thing to make you do for just one mission, since underwater breathing hadn't been important up until then and would never be important again afterwards.
I hope none of you pussies get Demons Souls.
