Beastie Boys did the interview with this magazine last year during the European press tour for the album, I saw a list of contents for the new issue out July 20th in the UK and Beastie Boys are second or third in the list, so it could be a decent sized interview. It also features a massive article on Mr Julian Casablancas from the Strokes, talking about his album. It’s a good magazine, but they take ages to come out and a lot of the the content can end up being out of date, Julian’s album (which is great, if you have heard it) came out in October! Unless they’ve done a new interview since Yauch’s announcement, which is doubtful. Still good to see it’s finally coming out, I thought the press from that time might have been on the shelf forever!! Something to enjoy whilst we wait for any developements...

I have a good relationship with Blag magazine. I mean our Rupert Grint site does. He was featured in the magazine last year and they sent us exclusive previews and stuff. The magazine is worth it though. It's like a big thick book and the photos are so nice!! I would die to get this one with the BB's. Anyway I have the direct email to the editor. I am gonna ask for an update and see if I can get more info!

Hi I just spoke to the editor for Blag, and yeah there will be an interview and photos. Also the guys will be talking about FOOD and drinks, I'll be posting the press release of it on my twitter and here too if anybody is interested. Can't wait!!!!!!!



Edit TWO: The editor Sarah just emailed it to me. It's only a preview and it's so cute and funny the way MCA messes with Ad-Rock telling him to hush. LMAO... Anyway she did work for their Awesome I shot that dvd and so it's themed around that....

Cool. :) Also wanted to mention that if you go to Blag they also have a short commentary on the photo they shot of the BB's during Awesome I Fucking shot that. When I talked to Sarah (Blag photographer), she told me she did a lot of the photos from the show that night as well as the DVD cover sleeve etc.... She absolutely loves them which I thought was sooo cute!!! Anyways have a listen to what she says about, link below. :) Again it's photo commentary so just click play!

the photo was taken at a show in Brussels. I don't think the BLAG crew had anything to do with AIFST DVD or photography from the cover sleeve for that matter.

What the fuck am I talking about? I think it's pretty clear. She was hired to take the photos of the band. She was at the Brussels show. How far fetched is it for a professional photographer to be hired to take photos of a show or of an artist? If you don't believe any of it well it is no big deal to me. I am just sharing information so chillax.

Aweome I Shot That was from a show in NYC in October 2004.

so yeah, it's not clear.

and I am genuinely interested in knowing her contributions to the DVD. she seems like a talented photographer and I had never seen her work attached to AIFST.

Well okay now I see why you were confused. Sorry about that. She used the photo for the Blag story from the Brussels show...It least that is what I understand....

The cover sleeve she said she shot that for the film though. It was just extra stuff she mentioned in the emails I was exchanging so I can always ask her for more clarification.... but that's just pretty much what she told me. I've also order the magazine so when it comes in perhaps it will explain more too.

blag has been delayed by production issues. they sent out an email a couple days ago. it's not clear when the issue will ship.

They sent out a .pdf of the entire magazine yesterday to those who've signed up for a subscription. They also sent out exclusive online content and are in production of an iPad app with publishing features not available to the general public. It's an excellent magazine; I highly recommend subscribing. The Bboys piece was NOT included. (Smart move.) If you get one, respect their copyright and don't distribute it. This was a great gift from Sally and Sarah while they've hit a publishing roadblock, and I'm impressed and concerned that they did it.

Well I had ordered the edition they were in and it was delayed due to some issues they had with their carriers or distributers. I thought it would be all sorted out by now! It was months ago I had ordered it. :/

Edit: Okay just realized I had missed some emails from them. I just read one from November 4th on the digital edition... But I still want the printed copy that had the interview with the Beasties. Hmmmm it seems they will be stilll sending it out just still much later after this digital thing. I mean I am glad they are doing things to make up for it I guess. oh well.

The blag iPad app was released Tuesday in the US. Just like the magazine, it's excellent. It includes a piece from the guys on food. Have no idea if the content of that piece is more or less than the print version. Can't wait for that (shipped April 12) to come.

I finally read the BLAG interview. No photos unfortunately. It’s just one shot of them from Awesome I shot that. The interview however is hilarious and Yauch had asked Sally Edwards if they could not discuss the album but make it all about food. It’s called the 10 Essential Foods by the Beastie Boys. They discuss what they have for breakfast, lunch and dinner and what tastes good and what is bad. They mention their obsession with this Asian restaurant in New York and the fact that Yauch tells the chefs how to prepare the food the right way. And they tease Mike about coming into the studio with his own special cereal every day. Crazy. I don’t have a scanner but will try and get it up soon!
