I have no connection to this internet station, other than listening to it for years now, all the way back to 2000 when all I had was a dial-up connection and had to listen to a scratchy-n-swirly sounding stream...but still enjoyed it a lot!
Luxuriamusic.com (http://www.luxuriamusic.com/) - listener supported/commercial free
Excerpt from their about page:Surf Music, Bossa Nova, Exotica, Space-Age Bachelor Pad, Jazz, Soft-Psych, Sunshine Pop, Wall of Sound, Latin, Go-Go, and Film & TV music of the past 50 years are expertly distilled and blended in order to concoct the “highly intoxicating and sometimes hallucinatory” LuxuriaMusic Sound. Somehow, in this context, it all makes sense.Listening makes you sorta feel you're at a club in a hotel next to the beach or sitting in a home like this (http://plastolux.com/mid-century-modern-for-sale-by-clifford-yates-year-built-1955.html) while the console stereo (http://www.flickr.com/photos/memphistikihead/2701574879/) plays & you and your friends sip drinks with fruit and umbrellas in them. :D
FYI: back in 2000 on this station is where I first heard Thievery Corporation, which has become one of my favorite sources of music.
