I am interested in your debunking!
Honestly, I think the article is kinda alarmist, but some of the stuff sounds like it makes sense so it's a bit scary/exciting.
So why won't the earth explode? :(

"251 million years ago a mammoth undersea methane bubble caused massive explosions, poisoned the atmosphere and destroyed more than 96 percent of all life on Earth. [1] Experts agree that what is known as the Permian extinction event was the greatest mass extinction event in the history of the world. [2]
55 million years later another methane bubble ruptured causing more mass extinctions during the Late Paleocene Thermal Maximum (LPTM).
The LPTM lasted 100,000 years. [3]"
Permian-Triassic boundary = ~251 million years ago
LPTM = ~55 million years ago
Doesn't take a scientist to be able to subtract.
And methane bubbles are retarded. They are not pockets of gas just waiting to be burst. Methane clathrates are deposits in which methane is trapped within the crystal structure of water. Exposure of these deposits can lead to dramatic releases of methane, but most likely they are not going to "cause the ocean bottom to collapse."
The article only cited one peer-reviewed reference. Figure 4 of that reference illustrates the methane hydrate dissociation process. In the text they describe the process as "massive, brief, and probably localized." No earth-shattering explosive bubbles were mentioned.
