for 2012!

from the, The Christian Science Monitor, July 17, 2010 (http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/The-Vote/2010/0717/Sarah-Palin-leads-the-GOP-presidential-pack-for-2012)

The Gallup polling organization has just released its latest on likely presidential candidates’ popularity within the GOP. Not surprisingly, Sarah Palin leads all the guys with presidential aspirations (Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, and Bobby Jindal) … not counting everybody in the US Senate, all of whom believe themselves to be presidential timber.

Palin’s at 76 percent “favorable” among Republicans – at least 10 percentage points higher than any of the guys.

Is the Republican Party going to run Sarah Palin against Barack Obama in 2012? It's beginning to look like it.

No way. No way.

Never say no way in politics. What may seem totally insane to you and the party you side with is totally sane to the other party and people that side with them. And with this government and how it works, Dewey doesn't have to win.

She may be favorite among Republicans, but she's not electable by the entire country. She's too much of a joke, plus she abandoned her post as Governor. Even if Republicans love her they have to be aware enough of the perception that she's an uneducated, unsavvy, shoot-from-the-hip miserable thinker.

No way, unless Obama's popularity climbs into the 90's and the Republican leadership wants to deliberately throw the election.

Here are things I find interesting about Sarah Palin, she has accumulated a financial and political war chest unrivaled by her political counterparts. She has more cash, popularity and press than any other Republican, Democrat or Independent Presidential candidate today.

With that type of power and ability even I'm in awe of her. She has staying power beyond any of her political opponents from the 2008 elections even after completely quitting her political career. She is a brand, an uniquely American brand of influence. No one on the Republican Party seems willing to push her and her millions of fans aside at this point in time. They want her endorsement, BIG TIME.

So yep she is the major political force in the Republican Party today, arguably in both parties.

Despite what anyone may say that is a reality.

what about Bachmann? her brand of nuts seems to have more than a few disciples.

Bachmann should be upset she is being marginalized by someone like Sarah. For that matter so should Ron Paul and all of his grassroots supporters. I'm not sure at what point a potential Republican candidate will call her out. I'm guessing not a single one of the republican candidates will call her out.

Fear of Sarah doubled with contempt and respect have infiltrated the Republican parties presidential candidates to this date.

Even John McCain (http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/26/palin-and-mccain-together-again/) is bowing down.

Reality in the USA today, could not be more absurd IMHO.

i'm really upset with john mccain for inflicting sarah palin on the world like he has. that was very irresponsible of him

palin has a very vocal, very spotlit contingent of followers but i wonder how widespread they really are

then again fox news is the most highly rated news network in the country so who the fuck knows

I'm pretty sure Romney has more $$$ socked away for campaiging than Palin. I think you're much more likely to see him in 2012.

Mitt may have something hidden up inside his mitt yet.

Mitt hasn't actually attacked Sarah himself, but folks from his camp have....

Here is a quote from the link provided above;“She’s not a serious human being,” a Romney adviser said of Palin, according to Mark Halperin at Time. “If she’s standing up there in a debate and the answers are more than 15 seconds long, she’s in trouble.”

Plus the same article does point out caveats. Palin also is a lightning rod figure, whose negatives are mounting up (http://www.pollster.com/polls/us/fav-palin.php). Here are Mitts numbers from the same pollster.com (http://www.pollster.com/polls/us/fav-romney.php)

I sure as shit hope she's the Republican pick. It would make for a very entertaining 2012 campaign and watching her get clobbered on the national stage (again, only worse this time around) would be satisfying. I'd have to invest in a lot of popcorn and a nicer couch that year so I could fully enjoy it.

Gary Johnson

Gary Johnson needs to get pregnant to beat Sarah Palin. Gary is so normal that I'm not sure he can actually win the nomination. His views on legalizing Marijuana* (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_E._Johnson#Governor_of_New_Mexico) seem so rational that I'm sure the fucked up Tea Party will go rabid on him.

In 1999, Johnson became the highest-ranking elected official in the United States to advocate the legalization of marijuana. Saying the War on Drugs was "an expensive bust," he advocated the decriminalization of drug use and the concentration on harm reduction measures for all other illegal drugs. He suggests that drug abuse be treated as a health issue and not as a criminal issue. Johnson does not advocate recreational drug use and strongly supports a don't do drugs policy.

Too bad because we're literally dying letting cartels get rich selling us drugs.
