Hello Everyone,

I propose that the Beastie Boys hold a HSC listening party for board members who have more than 3 posts, but less than 1000. The aforementioned party should be held at O-Scope Labs sometime within the next 90 days.

If you like this idea please cosign here.

Why discriminate against the post? Why not go by how many years a person has been an active member.

I'm in, but only if CJ Hood gives a live performance during the intermission. I'm also gonna keep my post count down so I can get invited...

How about a donation to a charity? I would drop a few bills for this opportunity.

I propose that you're drowning this album in the weight of expectation before it's even released, and that you'll be sick of it in a matter of months and back on here wondering "What's next?" before you know it. Unless it's truly on some next shit - wait and see seems to have worked so far.(y)

Nope...every B-Boys album that has dropped is permanently in my rotation and HSC will be the same. Especially after hearing the few tracks that have leaked (or sorta leaked). But you are correct in a sense, the Beastie Boys always do leave me wanting more.

Oh cool then it's settled have the listening party.

I really hope it doesn't stay called Hot Sauce Committee - actually I hope this time is being spent (if Yauch is well, I mean) turning it into a different album.

I don't really get the album title hating. Doesn't an album name lose its literal meeting once you hear the album? Don't the words "Check Your Head" mean "great bboy album" now?

I don't know about literal meanings having anything to do with it. Beastie Boys experience is based on the whole package, titles, songs, pics, whatever. So far this album title is a weak link in the current experience for me. Just my opinion.

This is the dumbest thread that's been in Beastie General in a long time. Are you kidding, somewhere between 3 and 1000 posts? Why such an arbitrary set of numbers? If you had 1000 would it be 1300 so you could fit into it?

Seriously, part of being a fan is the wait..... I couldn't attend anyway, I'm over the 1k limit.

Would we rather have 1 semi/pretty-good album every year, or one bangin' album every 4 or 6 years? I'd rather wait.

Ridiculous thread???...some people thought that the wheel was a ridiculous idea, some scoffed at the thought of fire, others mocked the first person to do the running man at a party.

I say to you sir, please "Check Your Head" and think before you call something "ridiculous".

Who is with me?!?!

Why yáll hating so much? This listening party is a great idea.

I think the hating is due more to the "300-999 post-count" requirement for your listening party than for the general idea, brother.

Sorry to say, you sunk your self upon inception. :o

why would you limit it to 1,000 posts.

Hey i propose we not let people attend who's names start with "J" and end with "asonP"

Is that fair?

What do you have against people with more than 1000 posts joining in? That's my simple question.

Guy Incognito

methinks he wanted to get people outside of those boundaries to react. it worked to be fair.

The post count comment was meant to be friendly ribbing. It was intended to be tougne in cheek. Next time I will be sure to have a perfectly obvious emoticon to make it more than clear.

Go find a sense of humor.

First off, the recent Yauch update makes me regret creating this thread at all.

Second, its pretty funny that people on this board (I obviously am not referring to everyone) thinks me suggesting that the Beastie Boys have a listening party for people who have posted between 3 and 1000 posts attend is serious. Get a clue. I'll admit, its not comedy gold. However it was still kidding.

Please pretend that this thread was never created.

Please Note: This is not back pedaling. I really couldn't care less what people on this board think of me.

JasonP, frankly i like your idea ! it's perfect for this band ! imagine sitting in the big room (with the ping pong table), listening to it with them, Andre Kelman, Billions McMillions, Ian Rogers, and a few of us; recording the session and digging DEEP into what EVERYONE (them included) thinks. that's the next step in crowdsourcing. that's the next step in fan-performer integration. no cynicism at all. no shtick. talk about process ! dude, you are the 16th Beastie Boy ! it's brilliant. let's Skype in those who can't make it ! thank you for suggesting the next step in music !
