Jimi Hendrix November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970
40 years ago today (http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs149.ash2/40783_145129865516606_142221859140740_326579_96450 2_n.jpg) the greatest electric guitarist ever died. We're going to memorialize him with a concert here in Seattle today with the rain pouring down on the ground.
My local Seattle Hendrix story,
When I was a kid a few friends and I ( completely ripped on hallucinogenics) went out at 3:00 AM and sneaked into the graveyard were he was buried (then his headstone was flat and hidden amongst the thousands of others buried there) and did the obvious, got even more high and listened to Hendrix music on a boombox, it was freaky, scary and spiritual. Then after being there a half hour or so we all heard a weird hissing noise coming from the ground, it kept getting louder and more ominous... a gurgling noise with odd wisps, we started to get giant goose bumps and totally on the edge of freaked out! The noise from the ground was becoming louder and more pronounced! After a minute of this something popped up out of the ground 10' away from us! It was a rotating sprinkler and it doused our stoned asses as we ran like little babies back to the car laughing like crazy.
The dude had Karma even in the graveyard.
