I made a comment on a movie news site about somebody again suggesting a actor from Smallville to be the same character in the upcoming Chris Nolan "god-fathered" Man of Steel movie and got attacked by a bunch of Smallville fan-boys and girls.

Seriously, people like that show?

I didn't know Smallville was still on. I watched the first season, it was okay. I think some people just get too nwrapped up in superhero stuff.

Superheroes will always be important to people because of the things they represent. They are pretty ingrained into our culture and change based on the times so they are always relevant.
Our great tales of strength of courage that the Greeks enjoyed with the likes of Hercules and other demigods are superheroes.
Then you have the characters like Batman with a dark mythos that runs a deeper backstory then any other literary character. The psychology of a man with the will and drive to fight injustice like he does is fascinating.

I wouldn't count on superheroes going anywhere.
