I can't wait to see where it's going to go. Mostly because I seriously have no idea. I'm going to be on edge the whole time.

And the great way they set up Quinn for this season is great.

I dont find the dude who plays Dexter convincing as a killer, he's got this Mark Mcgrath/Sugar Ray air to him that's distracting.

I am so fucking glad they killed off Rita, it should have been done 2 seasons sooner.

I even hate the goddamn flash-backs of her, I hope they aren't a continuing fixture this season...

Is Quinn going to be the next Doakes? Its sort of annoying. Haven't we been down this road before?

no. desmond harrington answered this directly with a flat-out no. it would be way too redundant and careless, and i highly doubt the writers would be that lazy.

and julie benz is done. she was only in the premiere episode for the flashbacks. also, julia stiles is joining the cast, and she may take astor and cody off dex's hands, so hopefully there will be no more rita and less kids ie corny family scenes, and more dex/harry scenes.

i like her bewbs and buttocks. Didn't she always look like she just finished crying or was just about to start. Thats HAWT! Emotionally unstable wimmins FTW!

I seen her on the television this morning on Buffy the Vampire Slayer...or Angel...one of those shows. Of course she was whining about something in the 10 seconds that I watched.

That's the stupidest thing I have ever read.

when is dex going to learn that whenever he doesn't listen to harry or disregards his advice, it leads to trouble? i don't think quinn's ploy is going to work. i have a feeling that seeing as dexter tried to help trinity's family, jonah won't identify dexter as kyle butler. julia stiles' character is supposed to form a "unique relationship" with dexter, i wonder where that will lead. and it looks like angel's in big shit.

The Doakes/Quinn comparison is too predictable.

The dirty cop/stolen money scenario seems likely to somehow come around and bite him in the ass....but it wouldn't come in the format of Dexter saying anything, since that would reflect poorly upon Dexter.

Fuck...I am honestly stumped. Between him finding the chick locked in the house of his latest kill, and Quinn starting to make the Dexter/Kyle Butler connection...the show is definetly becoming a nervous viewing experience. Need xanax brb.

peter weller is a guest star this season and he's supposed to be playing a miami metro cop. so there could be a connection there with quinn.

the ultimate nervous viewing experience - season 2 ftw. i hear you though.

after a bit of a slow start, clearing up all of the trinity/rita/family crap, this season is getting really good. it seems that dex has had one villian to take down after the other - boyd, dan the dentist, cole - and jordan chase probably next (are these guys in a cult?). or liddy (http://watching-tv.ew.com/2010/11/14/dexter-peter-weller/)? peter weller has been a great addition, and provided a great story arc, while laguerta has reverted to season 1 bitch mode by fucking over deb. matthews may have all the ammo he needs now to demote laguerta, and promote deb, or batista?

This season got off to a pretty slow start, but it's getting interesting now, almost impossible to predict. That greasy narcotics cop is trouble, I can see that much coming.

That was the one that just completely turned the season on its side and let out a wet diarrhea fart for me.

They leave the room for 2 seconds and the guy gets on the phone and calls his secret rape gang rather than the police?

Also, the guy escaping Dexters car was intense...but then he just manages to kill the guy and set up this perfect murder scene within a few seconds of Deb and Matsouka arriving...and they buy Matsoukas theory hook line and sinker even though they NEVER do otherwise...and no one finds it odd that Dexter just happened to be there?

Theres too many loose ends this season and sloppy writing. Ritas kids leaving town seemed like an easy out for the writers.

Even the guy he murdered in the bathroom in the middle of the day in the first or second episode.....no mention of that since.

Oh come on, it's a TV show! Of course you can pick it to pieces if you want, but seriously, just enjoy the ride!

Personally I found Matsouka's description of the crime scene an amusing bit of comic relief... "I wouldn't touch that nozzle if I was you"

dan probably didn't call the police because he feared being implicated in the rape, torture and murder of all of those girls, with lumen as an eye witness. dan also probably wanted to alert cole, jordan and whoever else is involved that one of their victims survived and that they have to get rid of her.

regarding the guy dex had in his car - you could also pick apart a very similar scenario at the end of season 3, when dexter managed to free himself when the skinner had him strapped down, and then managed to break the skinner's neck, escape deb's and the police's detection at the warehouse, and then went and got married. anyways, i could buy the double murder scene. deb called dexter to come to the scene of the crime, where it looked like a murder took place, ie blood. dex took a different route and ended up at the other side of the abandoned warehouse, where he found the bodies of dan the dentist, and of the killer he abducted earlier that night. the murder scene looks weird as hell, with no evidence suggesting no one else was involved, and masuka, who like dexter, is very good at his job (as well as being a well known perv), is able to read the crime scene and determine what happened, which very much appears to be what has occurred.

rita's kids leaving, along with rita getting killed, was a blessing (y)

the only problem i've had with this season is the guy he killed in the bathroom. sure, it looked like no one was around, but did he clean up the scene, or just leave it?

you can pick out many loose ends throughout all the seasons. such as in season 4, when trinity walked through miami metro homicide, he was on security video tape, and no one discovered this later on when they identified him as trinity?

Nah I know...you're right. A friend and I were discussing this, and for whatever reason it seems like I notice plot holes more apparently this season. He said it probably has to do with a lack of Dexters emotional nuances...like the character seems very different this season which makes sense considering hes been tossed into a very different situation.

I haven't written off the season completely. Season 3 was also weak to me at times, but maybe part of the reason I wasn't as harsh was because I watched it in succession rather than waiting week to week. If an episode sucked, I could skate on to the next.

Yea the dead guy in the bathroom...I feel like that has to be addressed somehow at some point. Also, when Cole broke down the hotel room door...how did they clean that up?

Either the writing is getting sloppy or it always has had little loose ends I just never noticed before. Either way, forgiving the weak points of this season its still an excellent show.

yeah season 3 took a long time to get going. it was alright, but i thought they could've done so much more with the prado brothers.

exactly, the hotel room door. if dex couldn't fix the door, wouldn't some red flags go up when jordan eventually reports cole missing to the authorities, when dexter stayed in the room right next to cole's? unless of course dex used a fake name or alias to register at the hotel, which he usually does. and remember at the end of season 2, dex flies to paris for a day to kill lila. if he wasn't able to keep it to himself, that he left the country, wouldn't anyone ask him why he went to paris for only one day? and how did he get lila's body out of the downtown paris hotel? he just put it in a duffle bag and didn't cut her up. i guess he could've managed to slip out with a massive bag, but still.

you could essentially pick out weak writing points throughout the entire series, but overall it's great. this season is definitely better than season 3, but i wish they could've introduced characters like liddy and jordan (especially liddy) a little bit earlier.
