I was in Luray Virginia for a 4 day weekend of kayaking on the Shenandoah River when I saw this spider web. It was on an iron fence in a small family cemetery.

that definitely looks creepy - frame em and hang em up for halloween
I'm sure you kid is into it right? My son is only 20 months and he loves it, makes scary noises when he sees scary things - quite uncanny actually.
snatch the mix, your kid might dig it (y)
My son is going to be a vampire, the joker and a mummy. He is hooked on Scooby Doo because of the monsters.
I shot a bunch of the webs. They were covering the fences. It was 7 am and I was actually run off of a farmer's property. He said it was private property and when I said I was taking photos of webs he thought I was a freaky pinko on acid. Ha!
I posted a couple other of the web shots in the random photos thread.
Happy Ghouling!

I loved Halloween, it's my favorite holiday. Tonight I am going on a ghost tour in Spring where I live. Never knew where I lived was haunted and apparently ghost hunters from all over have visited to record the activity! too cool. :)

let us know if you have any ghostly experiences =)
I went on the site. The orbs always make me laugh because they are a result of the camera flash. It is good fun though and who knows maybe ghosts do exist. If I can haunt people after I am gone I will play some good pranks.

I'm obsessive compulsive about the Haunted Mansion @ Disneyland. It's fucking awesome IMHO and so much is going on at so many levels repeated riding only makes it more fascinating. Anyway I started out sort of wondering about the effects and soon found out the engineers, writers and researchers who contributed to this ride were in it for keeps.
I am obsessed with the attention to detail on the show, below are some of the sites that give you the magic behind the magic,
Doombuggies (http://www.doombuggies.com/secrets_facade.php)
Daves Blog on the "Organist Illusion" (http://davelandblog.blogspot.com/2010/02/freaky-fridays-haunted-mansion-ballroom.html)
A thread from a Disney forum that's completely out of control and up 7 parts, The Long-Forgotten Haunted Mansion Effect Thread 7: Further Realms of Fright (http://micechat.com/forums/disneyland-resort/136382-long-forgotten-haunted-mansion-effect-thread-7-further-realms-fright.html)
And finally a blog started earlier this year which evolved from the above thread Long Forgotten (http://longforgottenhauntedmansion.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html)
I have some pretty cool effects for the house that I've ripped off or have been inspired from the above sites, plus my 100 or so rides through the Haunted Mansion.
Halloween is cool because my house turns into a dark ride.

Well I don't believe it was just a camera flash. I mean I was there experiencing it myself so I believe it. We definitely got loads of orbs on our camera. It was a cool experience. I recommend people go and check it out yourself if you have any haunted areas in your town, visit them!! ;) Plus if you still are not a believer you still learn some cool history on the town's murders and deaths and tragedies...
I have been to a old warehouse where some ghost hunters set-up lights and remote cameras to catch movement. It was fun. I did not mean to be a curmudgeon. It is a good time and I do believe there could be apparitions. Orbs do tend to be reflections due to the flash.

Yeah, "orbs" are always just light bouncing off moisture. Sorry.
search any snow or rain photos and you'll see "orbs" everywhere. it's just water.

Well I see this will be debatable lol which is cool because you know not everybody is expected to believe in it. I don't mind exploring the other possibilities either because I do have an open mind to everything...Anyway my photos are taken earlier this month in Houston. No snow or rain or any moisture. I took photos at various locations and many of the photos from that evening had had no orbs in them at all. Then when we were taken to the really active ghost sites the orbs started showing up everywhere.. In my beliefs orbs are all around us, just some areas are more haunted than others. And I am sure there are plenty of photos that do just show snow too. Anyway here's my photo. ;)

Picture of Ghost Orbs - Dust or Moisture
Airborne particles show up amazingly well in digital photographs. They show the reflection of either sunlight, lamps, or the flash from the computer. Dust is the most popular type of particle to be flying around both inside and out. When the light from the camera hits a dust particle, it creates a round circle of light that many call an orb.
Fine mist, raindrops, or even high humidity in the air can also show up in such a way. These water droplets reflect the light even better than the dust does.
Many people who take a picture that includes orbs insist that it was not raining at the time. Nor, they say, was there any dust in the area. Moisture in the air is not always detectable by people. It does not have to be raining to reflect. Also, dust is everywhere, and does not point to sloppy housekeeping or piles or dirt.
yeaaaahhh....:(
