Half an Onion
Half a stick of Cinamon
4 or 5 cloves
1 tbsp garam masala (the real shit)
1 tbsp chili powder
4 or 5 finely diced thai chilis
Chicken Broth
Some frozen peas
Basmati Rice
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
Make sure you soak the rice for a while to get rid of all that extra starch. Mix around and drain.
Fry half of the onion.
Throw it all in the rice cooker with 2 parts liquid to one part rice.
Salt and Pepper to taste.
Stir it up.

Quinoa. Add whatever vegetables you like (carrots, kale, celery, broccoli, avocado to give it a special twist.) . High fibre, protein, tastiness.

My Pop started on making this No-Knead bread in a giant pot, I told him he should just use a rice cooker.
I've never really used mine for much besides rice, partially because of all the black magic involved. That's the only way I can explain how it knows EXACTLY when the rice is done no matter how much I put in.
Bread....

My wife's paycut has put us on a bit of a budget lately so I'm trying to stop getting take out. I have a rice cooker and remembered this thread so I googled rice cooker recipes. I made this the other night.

Pretty damn good. Soy sauce is a must though. I even used a little chili sauce packet I had left from Panda Express. It cost me $6 and we got 4 big servings out of it. My suggestion is to half the green pepper and onion suggestions. Just a bit too much.

Yep, just like tuna. Chunk chicken in a can. I got the premium breast meat chunks. Cheap as shit. Wasn't bad at all.

i wasn't aware of that!
so for the recipe, it's a can of chicken broth, OR a cup of water and a bouillon cube? the recipe's kind of vague.
it doesn't seem like all of those ingredients could be tossed in a rice cooker and all come out good at the same time. i guess they really are magic.

Yeah....it's definitely an "or" thing. There was definitely some formatting error there. I'd also suggest leaving out appprox 2 ozs of the broth. Just a bit wet although it did set up a bit after removing it from the heat and letting it cool for 5 mins.
And yes......they are magic.
P.S. Don't forget the soy sauce.

Mmmmmm......
I took a package of Rice-a-Roni spanish rice and mixed in a can of diced tomatoes, some leftover ground beef from taco night a couple days before, nuked some pre-cooked bacon and crumbled it up, and put it all in the rice cooker and turned it on (with the correct amount of H20 and the butter the rice pack called for).
It was hella yummy.
