so when the beastie boys tour in the new year there bound to visit london, what are the best venue's for them to play at.like is it really dangerous at BRIXTON academy or is the camden roundhouse the best thing since sliced bread.
I've only ever been to the astoria in london(saw beastie boys 25th june '94 gig) and thats now closed down.
I went and saw PLAN B at southampton guildhall the other week and that venue was shit.

i've been to about 15 gigs at brixton, including beastie boys, and i've never encountered a single problem. gig nights are probably the safest anyway, as there's so many people all heading in the same direction. besides it's like a 5 minute walk from the tube on the main road, so yeah, there's fuck all to worry about.

it depends what size shows they're gonna do. i wouldn't say no to 3 nights in london again at smaller venues (brixton, forum, shephards bush empire). i mean timmie, ica is a great shout, but that's real small! fucking nightmare getting tickets.

they could probably fill the 02 arena one night, as wembley arena was packed back in 04. personally i'd like them to play the electric ballroom in camden, or the roundhouse. 3 nights. sorted. but i don't think we'll see them until next winter.

Brixton is alright during concerts. It's ok in most parts anyway.

Yeah it's usually OK for big gigs but it does depend. A load of nerds from my college went to the academy once for some small time band and there was a crew waiting outside to jack people. Around 20 of them got their phones robbed on the way out, it was some funny shit.

I've been to a few gigs at brixton. Including Beastie Boys the last time they were over. Never had any problems. If it makes you feel better, the Police station is opposite the academy.

I've been to loads of gigs at the Brixton Academy, and have lived in the Brixton area for over 6 years now. In my experience it's a lot more fun spending an evening in Brixton Academy than it is spending an evening in Brixton Police Station!:(
