To open, I am not taking anything away at all from dude's illness, as I expect it was such a heavy-duty convalescence that he wanted to spend it with his family just being a person. Just to get that clear. This is coming from a positive place. If you are reading this, you are special. Hi. Yes, you. :)

Aaaaaaanyway, what are the odds he kept going into the studio while he was recovering? Slim-to-none? I'm wondering if this album really did just sit around the whole time.

not sure about going to the studio but i reckon a lot of file sharing and updates were sent to him and he made suggestions alterations probably had some portable situation set up for ideas and stuff

Well in my opinion when he got well enough to go to events, premieres then I am sure he also spent some time in the studio too. I think he was well enough to do light work here and there. But if Tammy D. said Mike was back in the studio then it must not have been often.

i bet the yaucher went in once in a while to straighten the paintings on the wall, do a little dusting and maybe
to be kind and rewind some tapes here and there. i bet he did!

Word is he recovered out of state and no studio time was involved.

the only tweeking they did to HSC was changing the 1 to a 2.....

well, that's all we can tell from our vantage point. don't forget that we never even heard the album, so, we may never know the extent of the changes made.

plus, I would consider re-mixing (as in mixdown) the whole album a considerable tweak.
