haha i'd forgotten about this, can't believe how much everyone cried about it.
good fun, still.
Dude, perpetuating that uneasy time in all of our pasts is completely out of line and unnecessary!

A year later, I still don't find it funny but I think at this point I already know that some people are just socially inept. If it were brought up again I'd now just roll my eyes and hope the world can bless them with sterility.

Sometimes I don't get this board.
So many people in here write posts saying this and that is gay and everybody laughs at it.
I'm not saying that any of those comments are right, but what was it with this particular thread? Was is all about the "fag" word? If it was "gay" then it was ok?! Enlighten me. First time I read this thread.

The thing I find funny about all this is that nobody has realised Planetary himself is gay.

A year later, i still can't believe everyone's holier-than-thou attitude. Acting as if your shit doesn't stink.
Ever stop to consider that maybe you're the socially inept one for getting upset over a comment that was neither directed at you or anyone you know, or said with any malice or intent.
Maybe you should just shut the fuck up and let people speak up for themselves if they have an issue with something i say. Either that or do as you say and just roll your eyes, wishing sterility on me, and keep it to yourself.

I was never upset about the comment but I found it in bad taste.
It's not about being "holier-than-thou." It's about being respectful. Even if you didn't mean any malice by the comment, someone came out and said something that was actually very brave to admit. You make a joke out of using a term that many find very hurtful.
Maybe it's because I am friends with the people that tell me about their experiences about being bi or homosexual and how much hearing that word has hurt them. Hence I don't find it funny.
But don't worry your pretty little head. As I said, in the future I will not saying anything at all because it's very obvious that it's pointless to do so.

so you're saying that, had you not heard first hand stories of how upsetting those remarks can be, you wouldn't mind?
Honestly, i wouldn't condemn someone for being gay. It's the crude, boisterous way in which the text appeared, given the delicate nature of the previous posts, that was supposed to be funny. Granted, part of it was intended to be inappropriate, but to a degree where it's so inappropriate it's funny (to some).
A comment like that could have been used in a lot of different contexts and i'm sure all of them would offend a certain group of people. What i'm not so sure of is wether or not you'd be so quick to criticise...

when i saw the thread title on the front page of the message board, i wondered how there could be a scandal about frequently answered questions.
After reading three pages of the thing i'm struggling to think about anything but cigarettes. I will have given up a month tomorrow and reading this thread is the first time i have thought about nicotine for days.

so you're saying that, had you not heard first hand stories of how upsetting those remarks can be, you wouldn't mind?
I am admitting that perhaps it's possible I wouldn't have blinked an eye at if I had zero knowledge of it ever being a hurtful word. I also admit though that I live in an area that is very well focused on these kinds of issues where others may not and so maybe that's why others take it so lightly.
My point is that it has the great potential to hurt people. I think it's one thing to joke around if you know someone well enough, and know that the word doesn't bother them.
But if you don't know them, despite not having any mal intent, it could be considered cruel to them.
In the end, you will do what you want and I will do what I want. Perhaps I should have a bit kinder with my words though and wished for knowledge and empathy rather than sterility.

You could cut the sexual tension in here with a knife.
Or a thin knife-like cock.

In my country there are lots of gay people and...emos (and/or)...
But the "fag" jokes are common...not by me though.

Or some razor-sharp vagina lips.
Too far? Maybe. As bad as homophobia though? Certainly not.
