Heard from a very reliable source that the album will feature appearances from Cypress Hill AND Rev Run of Run-DMC. Also, the band are planning to leak snippets of new songs throughout the lead-up to Christmas!

You heard it here first people!

They might be on the next Hot Sauce but I can't seem them being on the forthcoming album, we've already got the tracklisting and it's all the songs that were previously finished and I can't seem them being seriously retooled aside from new mixing.

And when we DO listen to the album for the first time and everything you've said is a load of old toss... Would it be fair game to ridicule you?

Generally, when a band has a load of guests on the album, it's their last album.

examples? i'm not disagreeing, i just think that sort of statement should have some evidence. and i suppose i also don't see why it's relevant to the beasties, i think they've gotten this far...i can't see them stopping for quite some time.

They have been away for a long time and usually do take long extended breaks so they are probably itching to perform again and have loads of time to think of amazing things to do each time they decide to come back. As long as they enjoy working together and making music they will never break up. They’ll always be brothers and always be the Beastie Boys as they have been for the past 20+ years.

Run DMC's "Crown Royal" album comes to mind..I know JMJ passed away a few years later, but that album was terrible.

Your right, I can't think of any if I am honest but I've always had the impression that when you start having more and more guests, it spells the end for a band. Also double albums do that to - like The Clash and their shitty six side LPs towards their end. But that wasn't the last, just the start (or middle) of the end :)

Well I can't argue with the latest statments. I'd rather here more of Mike Adam and Adam than some guest rappers.. hopefully they all got SMALL parts lol. BB's all the way!

some of you guys are straight trippin.

idk wither this is true or not, but its pretty cool.

the beastie boys have been in the rap game for a long time, longer than most. and done VERY few collabos. most rappers have more collabos on one album than the beastie boy have in their entire career.

those guest that are mentioned are all quality artists. im not sure what run and biz are going to be sounding like these days, but nas and b real are still top notch.

i trust the beastie boys musical tastes and stylings more than i would anyone on this board, and i think any doubters should do the same. once you hear it, then pass judgment on it, but until then look forward to it!

this thread is funny...
OK... the album is already finished and it has been for a while. They have already listed all the tracks on the album.
So how can they add tracks to an album that is already finished?

Pretty easy.

You can generally click and drag tracks on and off a CD. Click burn once you're done, have a listen, go back and change it if required :p

You generally can't change already printed discs unless re-writable, which they won't be. ;)

Sorry, was just yanking your chain. I highly doubt they'll have anything ready packed. I would guess these things are last minute generally to cut down on leaks, costs and/or to make last minute changes. Your product starts to get old the minute it's completed. Someone/your peers/competition is already working on the next stage or two of whatever ground breaking product you've just finished. It's the future NOW and it's only getting quicker! Or something. :)

you think these albums are just all ready to go and have been sitting in a wearhouse for going on two years?

and it wouldnt have gotten out and on the net somehow?

That's like the ONLY one...
Which other collabos have delivered? I can't think of one. I mean the Biz, Miho Hatori, Nas and Lee Perry one's aren't really A+ cuts.

Crown Royal was done without DMC. Bad example.

Anyone bought a hip-hip album in the last 10 years? They are all loaded with guests. Go look at Jay-Z's last five records.
