I listen to luxuriamusic.com (http://www.luxuriamusic.com/blog/litlgrey/10th-annual-luxuriamusic-beatles-day) regularly, and realized all the Beatles covers and songs about the Beatles have been going on for a couple hours now, and just found out this is scheduled for the entire day.

This time each year we celebrate the music of Thee Fab 4 by playing covers, tributes, and novelty recordings by a wide variety of musical artists, such as Mrs. Miller, Keith Moon, The Rutles, The Nutty Squirrels, Father Rhode & His Mystery Men Band, William Shatner and The Beach Boys. Say you want a revolution? This year the big twist that will make you shout is that we are breaking with convention and playing ACTUAL BEATLES RECORDINGS!Fun stuff!

Btw most of the time there are live human(!!) DJs present, many times playing vinyl.

Heavy on the cocktail bent, nice find though. I can hear the occasional pop crackle snap of vinyl and from the vidcam looks like that dude is mostly spinning vinyl. looks like he's drinkin' a beer. Getting fucked up spinning records has always been my national pastime.

There "Now Playing" and Playlist is way off the mark, it needs updating because it's been the same for the past dozen songs.

Btw luxuria is where I first heard modern downtempo/lounge music, like Thievery Corporation, who are now one of my favorite musicians. Trying to hear TC's slick "The Oscillator" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtDD0tleM9U)* (the first time I had heard their music) through the AM radio-ish sounding Realplayer and my lightning fast :D 56K dial-up connection was memorable. Not just for the music but also because the net was still new to me and it there was kind of a mysterious feel to listening to music that came all the way from the western edge of the continent, through a telephone wire snaking along the floor.

* that sci-fi sound you hear in the song (you'll know what I mean when you hear it) is the effect you get when tuning most AM and shortwave radios & is caused by the oscillator circuit
