Simple, cheap, delicious and filling. Bunny chow is a popular South African dish that originated in the old days when I think it was the Cape Malays or Indians had their own food stalls and didn't have any plates (or from what I heard we not allowed to use plates..wtf) Any who, they developed a way to have a handy container for the curries w/o the use of utensils. So they thought a loaf of bread! Also you can eat it too! Here's all you need.

1 unsliced loaf of bread, I prefer freshly made bread from the bakery, any kind will do but I personally like Tiger Loaf or White Bread.

Curry- of any kind whether it's home made, store bought (they look like MRE's), or just ordered from your nearest curry joint.

Step 1-Prepare curry (cook it, microwave it, buy whatever..just have it ready and nice and pipping hot)

Step 2 - Slice off the top and hollow out the inside bits BUT save it and put it off to the side since you'll need them to eat the curry

Step 3- Pour curry into empty bread loaf, doesn't matter if it overflows or not

Step 4- Use inside of the bread to scoop up the curry and as you go down further use the sides to or just eat the sides as it....but be careful tho..it can be really hot and messy.

Now enjoy with a nice mango lassi.

I'm sure it's not the super authentic way but this meal was a treat and all I could afford when we had our own place. It beat the shit out of ramen.
