So, as you may remember. RATM got to xmas number one thru people power and beat the usual x factor bollocks single to number one. Hooray!.
So to this year: its all gone a bit tits up.
First off, the x factor reacted by getting the three finalists to record different songs so that it looked less like that they were throwing out whatever shite and making it number one.
Problem with that is that its a shit version of an ok tune.
Exhibit A - Matt Cardle When we collide (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jovf4NL8IR8).
Now i thought there has to be some backlash again and that we would pick one tune to compete with this shit.
WRONG, its all gone tits up and there are too many to choose from and a couple of fuck ups along the way.
The Competition:
The original of the x factor song: Biffy Clyro - When We Collide (Many Of Horror) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAh--lH0H3U)
The novelty campaign complete with stupid video
Surfin Bird (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dS74WjF2wOE)
And the best idea but badly carried out:
Loads of recording artists got together to record a new version of composer John Cage's 4minutes and 33 seconds. i.e silence. They called it Cage against the machine. Genius. Film of the making below.
The only problem is that its been released with 7 (cough) remixes. Fairly sure that makes it an album and it cant be number one single. Even if separate downloads can be included there's 7 of them to choose from.
The video of the making is good though (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYedTIMAf7E)
And the remix titles are funny:
Herve tidies his studio mix
The Japanese Popstars watch family guy on mute mix
the 5"33 mix
Funny but all this means that the x factor single will be number one. Damn that cowell
