I am so looking forward to this. I've not read the book but know quite a few climbers who have recommended it to me as a none climber.

I couldn't imagine at any state of mind I'd be able to *spoiler alert* cut my own arm off. But I do know a lot of climbers are crazy so I'd totally understand that way of thinking. I for one would like to give him round of applause, I mean, a high-five... wait, I mean just respectfully shake his... not that. Inspiring stuff Danny.

I just saw this movie last weekend. James Franco did a fantastic job. Very inspiring flick. (y)

I want to watch it but I think I will end up skipping through the actual arm chopping bit. I don't think I could watch it, apparently it's proper puke inducing and I am a bit of a wimp.

I saw this a few weeks ago and it was good, special thanks to Danny Boyle. There is still some hollywood fluff in the movie - like the clear blue pools - those don't exist in the narrows. It would usually be brown, murky and maybe include a dead animal.

I think the will to live can make people do just about anything. Especially if your arm is dead, rotting between a rock & a hard place.

What I can't believe is the man's ability to handle pain. I would've been freaking out.

WORTH WATCHING!

I couldn't believe being stuck down there for all that time, cutting off your arm, all the blood loss...the guy was able to climb out of the canyon and walk for help. Truly amazing.

and the arm cutting off bit wasn't too gruesome...but then again, I'm a nurse.
