I've been waiting to see this for a while. Hopefully I'll find time this weekend.

I tried really hard not to watch any trailers for it, but I accidentally saw one yesterday. Unfortunately, it was one of those trailers that reveals the entire plot and condenses everything minus the actual ending into a two minute mini movie.

Even more unfortunately, it looked kinda hokey, and also seemed devoid of David O. Russell's usual eccentricity. I'm just hoping that it gave me the wrong impression altogether and is actually as awesome as critics are saying it is.

Wahlberg recycles a little bit of his simple, heart-of-gold character from Boogie Nights but is still good. Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Melissa Leo all killed their parts. Melissa Leo is almost Amy Ryan in Gone Baby Gone transparent. Almost. Christian Bale too but there's too much Christian Baleness about him to really get there. There's a little bit of over the top with the crazy family but overall I thought it was really good.

I didn't notice a ton of eccentricity, the directing seemed to me pretty light and straightforward. Sort of like Lost in Translation.

planning on going to see this next week. of course there has been a lot of buzz about it here since it is a local movie. feel bad for the actors...Lowell is a shit hole.

Amy Adams was really good. I've mostly seen her in comedy type stuff so I didn't really know she had it in her.

trailers usually ruin movies, especially with those stupid over the top voice-overs.

Watch Amy in Sunshine Cleaning with Emily Blunt and Doubt with Meryl Streep. She did good drama in both. :)

Mark sorta gets on my nerves with the films he does these days but I will admit I loved him in Lovely Bones. He had that crazy mad look going on like he did in Basketball Diaries and Fear. I don't know about seeing this one though.

I googled the doc about Dickie and it is quite disturbing.

Conan's sister's in it.

Ward/Gatti (RIP) was an amazing trilogy. I'll definitely go see this, but it's sad when Bale is starting to make me question seeing a movie he's in. Dude makes great movies. I just wish he wasn't such a nutbar.
