From childhood and adulthood:

Gotta say, the year I got a SEGA MASTER SYSTEM I think I just about died.

So friggen cool that you could play cartridges AND game CARDS, all the different things about the console itself was cool. The packaging was futuristic, I literally felt like I'd arrived in the future when I got an SMS

I think all by best childhood Christmas experiences revolve around video games.

From adulthood, it has to be getting $1000 apple gift card because I really REALLY wanted / needed a new computer and I got a desktop much sooner than I was planning. Awesome gift from bunch of people

Runners Up: Getting the "Mask" Chopper/Airplane, GI Joe Black Raven Plane (I can't believe I remember that).. it had a piggy back little plane attached that I would put Snake Eyes in (y)

That's cool. (y) I do love the old school games like the old Mario but other than that was never a big game person. I can't recall my favorite ever. Maybe getting a new sterio player. I recall being excited about that and going out to buy new cd's to play loud on it.

first mega awesome surprise gift I can remember was getting special edition cabbage patch twins the year they exploded in popularity and disappeared from shelves. my mom totally tricked me into thinking she (or santa) couldn't get any...then to receive twins! oh my god, I lost my shit.

getting the original nintendo was pretty bad ass.

after that, a pair of Used brand overalls in the 90's.

a skateboard after that, when I was told I wasn't allowed to get one.

hmm, getting an iMac igloo thing in college was awesome. though it totally blew, full of bugs...but I was able to burn CDs for the first time.

and, the year before last, I got a wii and I cried.

this year I think I bought myself the best gifts, a sony walkman mp3 player, a pair of sorel boots, and a vacuum cleaner. woo hoo!

Haha, there should be a blog just about getting Cabbage Patch Kids for Christmas and kids losing their shit.. I had that happen with ColecoVision(lol), my dad had to drive to West Bumblefuck to get it

I got my parents what I think they will think is their best present ever: remote car starters so their cars will be warm when they get in em on those cold winter mornings.. not really too expensive either!

I love that you cried when you got a Wii.. I'm pretty sure I was about that happy when I got an NES one Christmas. That reminds me of someone on the board saying they cried when they beat Zelda on Wii, haha.. Playing Mario for the first time was pretty mindblowing (y)

homemade muzzleloader pistol (y), be careful!

Seems to be some gamers in this thread, so I thought I'd spread some Christmas cheer while helping out a worthy cause. (Child's Play (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/) Charity)

First person to PM me gets a Humble Indie Bundle (http://www.humblebundle.com/) gift code..

11 indie games, quite a few of them actually good... ;)

all this video game talk reminds me when i got a NES for christmas.

i didn't even know what it was and wasn't too interested in it. i must have been like 5 or 6. everypne expected me to be crazy excited about it. i was just kinda like... why are you guys fucking with the tv???? leave the tv alone!!! i wanna watch cartoons!

i was never excited about my gifts as a kid. i pissed a lot of people off because of that. that's why i think i hate christmas so much because everone was just kinda mad at me or disapointed that i never flipped my shit like most(all) kids do.

Cool games thing, S7.. are they like Nintendo style games? Turdburglar is not excited by video game gifts... HARD TO PLEASE!

good Christmas this year.. everyone at the house was really happy with their gifts. I got my dad a blu-ray player with wifi so he can watch netflix and youtube on the tv. parents REALLY LOVED their remote car starters too (y)

I got a sweet Apple Magic Pad (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC380LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1Mg&mco=MTg1ODE3MDE), pretty cool little accessory so I can sit back and surf the web.. I also got an HD flipcam, which is something I probably wouldn't buy for myself, but a cool toy/tool to have..

Tonight I remembered the year I got a CD player. You could didn't have to rewind tapes anymore! I got it with the Beatles "Past Masters 2" disc and was thoroughly mind-blown at the crispy sound quality...

Merry XMas, everyone (y)

As a child it would have to be my N64 with Zelda Ocarina of Time bundle pack. As an adult I'm not really excited about receiving gifts. I'm more happy about the food thats gonna be at the table! :D

hands down it was the fisher price 3 in 1 set.

it had pool, ping pong and hockey. the thing made a home in the basement and got used to death until i was too big for the thing to contain me. awesome.

Spectrum 48k - 26 years ago. my parents got me this instead of a bmx , initially i was a bit disappointed because they wanted me to do programming and shit. But then i discovered Manic Miner and Daley Thompsons Decathlon(y)

Amplified - Q tip - only because my sister always used to ask me what cd i wanted and it was never a surprise so one year she decided to see a mutual friend who worked in a record shop to recommend something for me instead and she picked this from a selection of 3 and i didnt even know he had made anything solo and i didnt stop listening to it for weeks.

The best thing i got this year was Das Krapital (The VIZ profanisaurus). Its 700 pages of rude words.(y)

PS I would like to be the Mayor of West Bumblefuck.

My first decent Skateboard (one that didn't have plastic wheels).

A Sega Megadrive with Streets of Rage - I still hum the opening theme tune.

A Boglin (rubber monster puppet).

Nothing in recent years though :-(
